Okra is delicious. People don't realize that. I know the color of my skin doesn't matter but sometimes culture dictates the foods we eat. I am white, but my mother was from Kentucky and she used to make us okra growing up in Colorado. I still eat it as well as collard greens which a lot of people don't get how delicious they are either, can't wait to have some with a copy of your hot water cornbread. I grew up on cornbread as well, but not the type that you make. I really really enjoy your videos. I'm quite the chef myself and I'm very impressed with your cooking

Yes C W, I agree with you on different cultures of food! I love food and I love to try anything different. It doesn't matter what culture it is. If it's good, I'm happy! Be blessed!

Assuming you’re an actual human being, and not a comment generated by AI, it has nothing really to do with race, but preference. I personally enjoy okra, especially using sliminess as a thickener for soups. But I’m also where that people don’t like okra, both for the racial stigma, or southern cultural stigma, and also the taste. It’s actually a very healthy vegetable if people want to be ignorant, let them. Admittedly, if you’ve never eaten it before it is a Maude Avenue an acquired taste.

I learned how to cook this dish a little differently than what you just made, but basically it is the same thing my mom and my auntie cooked okra, corn and tomatoes with bacon, it was fried in a hot cast iron skillet and everything else was basically what you did except back then we didn’t have so many ingredients like all of the different seasonings they just used salt and pepper maybe some hot sauce but it was always delicious 😋 then one day my mom decided to add smoked sausage to it and I was hooked forever that stuff was so good I literally wanted to slap her, (I have never under any circumstances slapped my mother) so when I make that dish that is how I cook it, corn, orka, tomato, sausage and shrimp. That’s the only difference between yours and mine I add corn to it it’s so good. And I just know that yours is too. 😊
