Tomb Raider: Underworld begins with Lara Croft's mansion exploding and being engulfed in flames. The game rewinds back in time to a week before the explosion, just after the events of Tomb Raider: Legend. Lara is searching for Avalon, hoping it will lead her to an explanation for the disappearance of her long lost mother. Underneath the Mediterranean Sea, Lara discovers an ancient temple designating itself as "Niflheim", one of the many Norse underworlds. Lara recovers one of Thor's gauntlets after a lengthy battle with Amanda Evert's mercenaries, and an encounter with an imprisoned Jacqueline Natla on Amanda's ship. Natla tells Lara that the Norse underworld, Helheim, and Avalon are one and the same and that she will need to find Thor's Hammer to open the Underworld and find her mother. Lara discovers that she will have to find Thor's other gauntlet and his belt if she wants to find and wield the hammer. Natla provides Lara with a starting point for her search in this quest - coastal Thailand. In Thailand, Lara does not locate the next gauntlet, but she finds evidence that her father had retrieved it before he died. She also discovers a message that reveals her father and Natla had a working relationship which eventually soured. Lara is able to deduce where her father hid the missing gauntlet....
As always, we used relevant gameplay, important dialogue and all cutscenes to stitch together a fluid cinematic experience. We hope you enjoy!

My friend, I don’t know if you have played the early Tomb Raiders. In the 1-5 series, I think the British version of Lara Croft with the core design has a better voice, especially the voice of the 4th generation girl Lara Croft. The voice is very pleasant.

I'll be the only one to disagree it seems: it all just sounded like one very long music, with 'ahhhhhsss' everywhere. The same 'beat' same 'ahhs': for the whole game. You want good original music that doesn't sound all the same and fans LOVE until this very day (2023) ? TRI, II & III. THAT are tunes worthy to hear, over and again. Each are different. But hey, I'm sure no one will agree.

Not much cutscenes unlike legend and anniversary cuz alister and zip arent speaking to her on a continuous basis... But that made it even more interesting and mysterious.... felt lonely at the same time thrilled

The rebooted Lara is portrayed as less of an explorer, and more of a Survivor. I think with fans, it's less about her clothing and design and more of the character. Here she's absolutely in charge, pique sophistication, you see here connecting cultures to one another. She's in control of her own missions, even when they go sideways, and of course she visits multiple locations. The rebooted Lara is more timid, vulgar, and rigid. It's hard to see how this Lara is supposed to become the sophisticated globe trotter when she's barely able to get a grip on her own adventures. Yes, of course they're trying to build the character'sbackstory, but it delves further away from the original Tomb Raider. Besides after Lara returns from her "death" in Angel of Darkness, it's subtly understood Croft underwent a supernatural change to be able to return from the dead, meaning there was a level of supernatural to her physiology, which makes sense after being exposed to many supernatural artifacts, tombs, and entities

I absolutely agree with you. It’s a harsh irony to know that this engraved face carried such a tragic foreshadow. It represents Hela’s original depiction, the Nordic goddess. One half of her is a beautiful young woman, but the other one is a rotting and decaying female corpse. Also, she is the ruler of the realm of the dead, the cold and the doom, Helheim (where English speakers take the word “hell” from). So that coded gate that Natla opened was pretty much confirming Lara that she has reached the real and true Helheim, where her suspected worst nightmare would come true…

You're living the dream 👍 I advise people to purchase previous generation consoles and games now as the next generation consoles will essentially push PlayStations, XBOX, and their games into further obscurity as they become collectors and not retail. You might be able to find Tomb Raider easily online now. But say in 10-15 years after majority copies have been sold online by private sellers, we'd only be relying on the hopes of remakes to cache in on the nostalgia. Buy the older consoles now while Sony and Microsoft are still intentionally gouging their markets with X and 5. There's no sense in shelling out on a beta generation when the industry will just reduce and finalize their products by November/December.

I’ll be honest, I thought that Natla had planned the incident in Peru. To get Lara and Amanda to fight against each other and to get Amanda, the way she is now. And that Natla could use both Lara and Amanda.

I love this Lara so much. It sucks that the game design was a bit of a letdown. They had this really cool idea for a door that can only be opened by the most powerful weapon in the world, but there's a portal within the Jormungandr room that's connected to every portal with a sword on the surface? So much for security.

It's Underworld's take on Ragnarok. If Norse gods fell to whomever they fought against, they would use the device to wipe the slate clean so evil dont get to rule the world. Thor's hammer got hidden so the likes of Natla couldnt use it. Everything in this Tomb Raider trillogy's lore is connected to Atlanteans who basically sowed seeds for human civilizations throughout time.

The Doppelganger, that's her name, not Shadow or Darkenss or whatever. And it's available on Xbox only, so if you play on PC, bad luck, mate. There's some talk, that maybe both DLCs will eventually come to PC, that would be cool, but as of now (February 25th, 2024) that's not the case yet. And as I see, the uploader played on PC, it has prompts from the PC version (hold Q for grapple, press F for the utility light, and so on). So yea, he can't play the DLCs, if he's playing PC version.
