Yeah but it was just a load of staged bullshit by the end so probably best they all left, all their races used to be edge of your seat stuff for me.....until I grew up and realised how staged it all was/is.

@@whatyousaidbud I was thinking "what a coincidence they just happened to have 2 different external cameras right at the block of ice richard crashed into..." I mean they try so hard to keep the crew out of film, it's extra obvious it's staged. Like if you occationally saw the chase boat, you'd at least think it was live.

It was all so obviously staged. Unless they a camera ready at every jump, and just happened to have a camera where he crashed into the ice. Fun to watch, but not real.

Gone2thedogs Old ass video but I'm going to give my two cents in. As a huge fan of the BBC Top Gear, I was estatic when they announced the American edition. They were as entertaining despite lacking the experience. But the big downfall was when they decided to end Season 1 (or was it later) putting Tanner's racing Ford Focus atop the factory car leaderboard. That was the moment I lost interest and went back to the good old original.

To whomever that this refers to, most of the races on Top Gear aren't staged. What do you want? A live action race while they're filming? They did the race already and the one you're watching is a edited version, because, of course they can't show you the whole thing(unless you purchase the unedited version). And Hammond crashing into the ice isn't staged. He just lost control of the car.

Just so happened to crash into an iceberg perfectly in front of a camera and in focus without the camera panning past expecting the car to carry on! Yeah, ok, this was a good show if you were 12yrs old and had no idea about anything they were doing.

I grew up in Northern Ontario. The British have clearly never tired very hard if they couldn't figure out how to put an outboard on a canoe.

Exactly my thought. I dont life in canada, but i often drove kayak or kanu with an smal outboarder. Its really relaxing. Not as relaxing as with paddles however. I dont get what all this fuzz is about niether....

Funny how they say it doesn't float if the engine stops and yet he is waiting under the bridge floating. And when he turns you actually see that the engine is missing and he is paddling away with mixed in engine sound.. :-)
