WRX15 either you got unlucky or I got lucky then cause my fa20 is supercharged and am not easy on it by any means and it has 75k miles and still running strong 🤷‍♂️

Has to be an unlucky one because im almost at 100k miles and been fully modded for about 30k miles and she's still holding strong.

How is it currently running, im looking to run these headers soon, was just waiting to see some dyno numbers and info about any cylinder issues,

I currently have had no issues besides a little knock pick up. As much as -2.81 on extended drives and its been mid 90s since I've installed them so that doesn't help. Zero DAM drop, gas mileage is still awesome, no studdering, shuddering, lagging or anything.

Absolutely, thank you for your support! I'm working with the tuner to on some data logs before I hit the dyno and show actual numbers. Just want to ensure the numbers aren't watered down. Keep in mind the uel will add power, just not as much as an aftermarket ELH. With time, anything is possible, and I'll do my best to find out!

Absolutely! The ELH market is strong, people really know how to squeeze power out. The UEL is so unknown at this point, id wait if I were you. Im the type to buy the new game console as soon as its released instead of waiting for the bugs to be worked out and its no different with cars unfortunately. I like trial and error, its the only real way to achieve any results.

@Inspire Happiness Media, I believe results are showing that UELs on the WRX cause a power loss compared to the stock ELHs. Plus, slower turbo spool.

I bet you're loving those stututu noises lol. I believe it takes so long because of 2 reasons and there may be more. 1- these cars will act the hell up of one clamp is loose so being tedious comes with the time loss 2- sometimes a KZfaq tutorial to help ensure you're not going crazy and doing a mod or maintenance completely wrong for peace of mind. Either way, I know exactly what you're talking about🤣

I definitely have a special place in my heart for Subie hatches! Sorry your 2018 gave you such a headache. The FA20DIT has had all the revisions needed to overcome the common problems the EJs were having, ringland failure, cyl4 starvation, baffle in the oil pan etc etc. Not to say it won't still have those issues long term, but I really have to agree on the engine build part. I planned on doing rods and pistons anyway, so if anything destruction wise happens, IAG built blocks are where I'm going. Thank you so much got your support, I really appreciate it🙌

@@inspirehappinessmedia7101 Thanks. Yeah IAG Stage 1, w/ Blousch Dom 1.5xtr on it currently 365whp / 330wtq on mustang dyno( We could have built it more, but no point for us, crazy fun daily). Tons and tons and tons of other mods. But before I get off topic again. Yeah I liked that the FA20dit was more bulletproof in many ways, although rods are the weak point. My point was the extra heat caused by UEL may not bode well, and I agree that going built later would be worth it if you are prepared to pay to play, doesn't much matter right?

Oh it definitely sounds insane lol. From what I've experienced so far, these perform way better than the oem headers, and don't give any more feedback than aftermarket ELH would. But, I'm here to find out the long term effects this has on the car so that people can make a knowledgeable judgement call in regards to this part. Thank you so much for your support.

Yes sir. I told my tuner (Drunkmann) what mods I was installing, and he had a base map ready when the install was complete. He required quite a few data logs to revise the tune where needed and ultimately got it dialed in.

They're terrible for our cars. I'm working on making an update to tell everything I encountered!

I'm actually working on doing the 1 year review. The headers made my vehicle run noticeably worse over time eventually resulting in a very expensive repair.

@@josephcrigger4818 honestly besides the power loss from going uel (under 10hp) it's really up to you if you want to run them. I have a few buddies who are running them on flex and still make great power. It won't ever make more than the same setup with Equal length headers, but if you're OK with that, you do you booboo lol. I sold my wrx about a month ago for a q50 redsport, so after 5 subarus, im officially done.......for now

As far as aftermarket headers go, I would say thats about accurate. Comparing these headers to the stock ELH, that is definitely a false statement.

Inspire Happiness Media it’s not false at all, Tomei themselves basically stated in advertisement that these headers WILL NOT make power, they are all for sound. You’re throwing uneven exhaust pulses into a twin scroll turbine housing. Will it blow up like everyone says it will? Very doubtful it will just blow up. But you are completely defeating the purpose of a twin scroll turbine housing.... each side of the housing is getting different flow, slowing down spool times and ultimately making less power. It doesn’t matter if the primaries are larger, the hot side IS NOT getting proper flow through the turbine housing, which is going to effect power negatively....

Looking for the facts that tomei stated these will not make any power led me to find your trolling comments on tomeis page. You are thoroughly displeased with this part, and are trying your best to force your unproven knowledge on everyone else as a scare tactic. You seem very much like the type to read what every other "mechanic troll" read and watched on KZfaq. However I have yet to see anyone post a video stating that the uel specifically destroyed their twinscroll.

Inspire Happiness Media never said it destroyed the twin scroll, just defeats the purpose of it. Twin scroll setups work best with even exhaust pulses hitting the turbine blades at the fastest pace possible to spool up the fastest. With uneven manifold the pulses strike the turbine blades unevenly, slowing down spool, defeats the purpose of a twin scroll setup. And yeah, I hate pointless modifications. I’m not a mechanic, I’m a licensed power engineer. Energy conversion, thermodynamics, is my specialty. An unequal manifold causes the cylinders with longer runners to run hotter due to heat taking longer to expel. More heat means you can’t advance ignition timing as much, which means less power. Less ignition timing, coupled with more restriction, means less power.... it’s not hard to comprehend is it?

@@Staria23 drunkmann was absolutely the best I've used. He was only offering etunes at the time due to the pandemic. Idk if his prices changed, but he charged $350 for the etune which included 4 maps total, 1 valet, 1 low boost, 1 burble, and 1 regular. Im heading to the dyno this week so that will be an $100 for 3 dyno pulls so $450 together for tune and dyno.

Not as much now but when they first hit market, 50% hated me for it lol!
