@@chucknastyness it took Aaron a while to show flashes as well. Rodgers had terrible footwork and throwing mechanics in his first couple seasons. I don't blame him for leaving though; the packers screwed him over time and time again, especially during his prime years. I started to notice it after bad calls with McCarthy that Rodgers and him got into arguments about (like the Seahawks vs GB game that went into overtime because of the dumb 4th and 1 calls by mccarthy), not giving him a wide receiver year after year, and trading Jordy Nelson, I was like "nobody on this team has AR's back". I hope it's better this way for him. You can tell he struggled a lot deciding to leave GB

From one Packers fan to another. It was time, we as a team grew complacent. That 15 win season was the worst thing to happen to this organization psychologically in the past decade. Now all that's left from 45 is Crosby. Even if we suck for 30 years, it was lovely having 2 generational qbs on our team back to back. Now it's time to move on and shake things up. So I will never have the memory of Aaron running the table and getting a ring, I will however be eternally grateful for his time as our QB. I think it isn't up for debate that he was the best Packers QB of all time. He willed not great teams to playoff runs. Even last season, did it ever feel like we were truly out of it until the Kerbey Joseph int? Even though I didn't get to witness a Superbowl, I thank you Aaron for all of the amazing years you had as our franchise quarterback. I will say I shed a tear or two when I heard the news today. I have never known a world without him as our guy. So this is completely new territory for me. It doesn't help that my dad is a Vikings fan so you know he has to get his licks in. I stayed up late watching the one against the Lions, and we can't forget the one to Cobb in the Wildcard. I watched the Jared Cook toe-drag to knock off the Cowboys, and I remember during those winning seasons, how I would rewatch highlights of previous games just at awe of what my team was able to do. It's awesome that we share a very similar path and experience of being Packers fans. I was 7 years old when the Packers lost to the broncos in the super bowl. My mom had a super bowl party and I was like, I'm going to root for that team. Been a Packers fan ever since then. Farve was my favorite player also. I cried when he threw an interception to lose that playoff game. I am so happy that you have found success with your content. Your thoughts and opinions are mostly excellent and accurate. Truly amazing job over the years, keep up the great work. Thank you and Go Pack Go!

Been watching the packers my whole life. Sadly the one year they go to win the super bowl I’m living in a town with no cable and a population of 130 people the year before smart phones and social media became common. So I had no idea they even won until I moved back to my home town. I was 6 when rodgers took over as QB and I still remember. This feels like my first time without him and idk how this is going to change the way I view packers football. Because this whole time I was not only rooting for the packers but putting my faith in rodgersto win us games. Now at 21 it’s going to be hard to pivot to a new guy who’s close to my age and feel that some awe. I’m happy rogers is still playing at least, and NYJ have some sick jerseys so you know I’ll still be repping rodgers when I can. Thank you for a great childhood Aaron.

Tom, as a Falcons fan, I felt exactly the way you felt around this time one year ago with Matt Ryan. You see, Matt Ryan joined the Falcons when I was 14. He left when I was 27. For just shy of two months, Matt Ryan literally was my QB for half my life. I started to follow and understand football when I was 7 (around the time Michael Vick was drafted by the Falcons), so outside of 2007 (won’t mention what Vick did; we all know) and just last season, I had known only two great QBs in Vick and Ryan. I was ecstatic for Vick’s success in reviving his personal life and his football career with the Eagles, Jets, and Steelers. Wished similar success would’ve followed for Matt Ryan in Indy, but wasn’t in the cards. Logically, I knew we had to move on from Matt Ryan. It was beyond time. Emotionally, it wrecked me inside. Matt Ryan had pulled us from darkness in 2007 to the highest of highs I didn’t expect that early. Point of all that is that I empathize with you, Tom. Maybe Jordan Love will be that guy.

Well Rodgers, despite the bad season you came off of, just know you are still one of the greatest qbs to have ever played the game of football and are more than deserving to be inducted into the Hall of Fame. Thank you for all you have done for the Packers and for the great moments you have given us to enjoy throughout the years as a Green Bay Packeryou will be greatly missed (just please don’t pull a Brett Farve and play for a rival team after the Jets).😢👍 And sadly for the rest of us Packer fans and owners, the suffering and sadness will continue for a long time. For the sake of our team’s legacy and to respect people’s mental health and sanity, the Packers should not play a game of football all of next season, so we can mourn the loss of our legendary qb and really begin to fix the issues that have plagued this team for a while now.

I've been a Packers fan since around 1970. I was the lone Packers fan at Thanksgiving dinners that was full of Vikings fans. There were a grand total of 2 winning seasons up until 1989. So, yeah, a lot pain during those years that many of you can relate to. So, I've enjoyed every moment, good and bad, during the Farve and Rodgers years. They would make me crazy sometimes, but it was worth every second. I'm as sorry as anyone to see Aaron go and wish the circumstances were different. But all good things must come to an end at some point. Plus, it's still a hell of lot better than being Vikings fan!

As a fan of a divisional rival, my thoughts on Rodgers are... complicated. I respect the hell out of the Packers organization and think they're one of the best run franchises in all of sports (which makes it all the more special when we play), and Rodgers has been the face of that for years. He's one of the greatest players regardless of any position in NFL History, and (when he's not torching the Vikings secondary) I loved watching him play. That man beat my Vikings more than any other, and it was a pleasure going against him every time. Good luck in Jersey, Rodgers.

Tom, I completely understand how you feel. I’m 37 and I was roughly 6 or 7 years old when I became a Packers fan. At that time, the Packers had this young up-and-coming quarterback named Brett Favre that I ended up idolizing because not only was he a great player, but he was an absolute goofball on the field and it made football so fun to watch. I was so blessed as an 11-year old to watch the Packers win their first Super Bowl in almost 30 years. I still remember my parents talking about how awesome it was because the Packers had a roughly 20-year stretch where they were Lions level of bad. During this 30+ year stretch of being a football fan, I only experienced the Packers having just two QB1s and even when the Packers made the switch from Favre to Rodgers, it was heavily emotional for me because Favre (at that time) was my hero (how quickly did I ever learn the phrase “don’t meet your heroes” because post-Packers Favre sure made me change my opinion about the guy). However, I will admit something. Over the last five years or so, my fandom of the Packers (and the NFL as a whole) has waned a bit. The activism that was taking place in the NFL was really turning me off from the game and the whole situation with COVID made things weird. Where I used to watch the Packers every Sunday, now I only watch maybe 2 or 3 Packer games a year and usually it’s only when I’m visiting my family for the holidays. I also have a career that distracts me quite a bit from enjoying football like I used to, so to put it bluntly, my passion for Packers football is at an all-time low. So now that we’re here, how do I feel about this? As weird as this sounds and this where it differs from you Tom, I feel somewhat indifferent. Part of me is gonna miss Rodgers but at the same time, I get why he wants to move on. With the Packers going through a rebuild, they don’t currently have a roster that can win a SB and at Rodgers’ current age, he doesn’t have the time to wait for the Packers to build back to being SB contenders. I also agree with Rodgers that to be perfectly blunt, I have not been a very big fan of the Packers front office (Mark Murphy and Brian Guntekunst). I agree with him on the fact that it feels like how the front office treats departures is extremely cold and shallow. Don’t get me wrong, I still consider myself a Packers fan and do check the scores after the game. But it is really hard for me to get invested into watching a 3 hour football game nowadays and considering Rodgers isn’t going to be a Packer anymore, it will be harder.

I will say this Tom. As a fan who watched the team evolve from a bottom dweller in the 80’s into the “cardiac Pack” under Majikowski and almost make the playoffs… there was some great joy in developing hope for this team. The Favre/Rodgers era has spoiled us as fans. Basically talking about playoff scenarios every preseason instead of HOPING we can possibly make the playoffs was a huge shift. I am excited for Love and to see what he can do. At best, he could play well and this team could get into the playoffs and spark new hope. At worst, he isn’t the answer and we rebuild… I’m here for it. Go Pack Go!

Tom...I felt this one buddy... I am a Steelers fan, LIVE, BLEED AND WILL DIE SO...I am 36 years old, and my first real memory of my Steelers was 1995, and watching my team lose to the Cowboys... I would spend the next many years praying for a chance to watch my team get a ring and it felt like forever. And then Ben Roethlisberger came along, and my GOD the man blessed me, with not 1, but 2 trophies (could have been 3 but DAMN YOUR AARON RODGERS lol). Didn't realize how much it meant until he stepped away and retired. My perspective changed, and just a little info about me as to why I felt this video and why MY perspective changed, my father passed away before ever watching his team, my team...our team the Pittsburgh Steelers win a trophy. But I got a chance to watch them win, and it will forever be in my top of memories, I hope someday to share that experience with my children...anyways, I just want to say, Great video, love your content...and for you Tom... "Go Pack Go!" P.S. Stay away from the highlight videos...they will make your heart visit your throat a few times, and the eyes get really glisteny!

The only thing I would have added was I think the Packers were hoping he would retire so they wouldn’t have to trade him until he went on McAfee and said before the darkness retreat if the Packers want to move on he’d be fine with it, he wouldn’t be a Favre about it - that that statement is where the Packers went from make your own decision (fingers crossed) to we are moving on from you.
