Swing doesn't work on this unit. On larger units, it moves the louvers back and forth. I have same unit you're showing, and I stuck the extra adhesive foam to the back of the window piece to add insulation. In your installation, I would also wrap you wood block on the bottom with something like Gorilla Waterproof Patch and Seal to protect the wood from rain.

Where does the water that’s draining being stored and how much is being stored? Could you have the drain hose going into a 5 gallon bucket?

There’s a little plug on the back of these and all you have to do is unscrew it pull the plug spit a little bucket under it and the water will drain in or we could use that little hose

Do u know how often to drain the water and also how long does this last ?

All depends on your window and how good your seal is you could use painters tape around the edges and Hurricane Windows so I had to fill a gap. Good luck. Thanks for watching. Stay cool this summer.
