Nice lonesome teen-ish ballad from East TN by Tommy Dickens and his band on the legendary Trail Records, a sublabel of the Tri-State Recording Company based in Kingsport, TN. In the late 60s and early 70s TSRC was effectively the center of the local recording industry in the Tri-Cities area (Kingsport, Bristol and Johnson City) and recorded a heap of teenage garage bands, country drifters, soul outfits and more.
Both sides of this record are exceptional in their own right and highlight the incredible diversity of musical influences in the region. Tommy Dickens recorded for several other labels in the area (most notably Gotta Go Records from Bristol) and mostly stuck to country material. Any additional info about him or his band appreciated!
