Baseball was actually invented in Britain, though. Although it's not really played anymore. When it is, it's called rounders and is somewhat different and more of a kid's game.

As a lifetime Red Sox fan, who lives in Southern California, I never had any use for Tommy. Or, so I thought. But the realization that Tommy was more like me than I would have admitted and there was more to admire about him than not. He loved the game more than anyone I've ever seen. My two favorite things noted about him are his hatred for team mascots and his love for food. Watching a highlight interview of him today where he said that , "You may see me throw a locker, but you will never see me throw food..." How can you not love a guy like that? R.I.P., Tommy. The team up there just got a new third base coach.
