I haven’t seen many updates other than pictures so I don’t know much more (I don’t even think he’s publicly said what type of cancer he has), so I might be missing some info.

@@internetaddict104 hello queer person here. i dont speak for everyone outside and within the community but the pronouns a person uses arent always directly linked to their identity in the same way their personal style =/= identity either since identity can be very fluid + everyone uses pronouns!! a person being comfortable with or preferring they/them doesn't automatically equate to them being enby. i know multiple non-binary people who prefer gender-specific pronouns over nonbinary pronouns and femmes/mascs who prefer non-binary pronouns as well-- and as strange as that may be to hear, it does not make them any less or more than the other people in their circle. not here to be a nag btw! just wanted to just to give a different perspective :)!! tldr as far as i know courtney has been pretty lax with labels (unlabeled & somewhere under the bi umbrella) and they use she/they pronouns. simple as.

Technically it could be, like if you don’t know someone’s gender, you say ‘they’. For example, you don’t know my gender, so you would say something like, “Oh, InternetAddict104! I watch *their* videos all the time!” That’s the grammatically correct way to use it to refer to one person. But in Courtney’s case, she goes by she/her and they/them. Sometimes she feels like a girl, so that’s when she/her is used. Sometimes they feel more gender neutral, so then you would use they/them. But it using they/them to refer to one person isn’t technically incorrect, though I do understand where you’re coming from.

The fuck? Dude. Even without the genders and stuff, I'm pretty sure they/their/them has been used for 1 person on the condition that the speaker doesn't know of the person's sexuality. Like if they never met the person before and the person's name is something neutral like "Alex", the default would be they/them/their. It's as correct grammar as he/she are for 1 person my guy. It's the neutral version p much grammatically speaking.

I'm still kinda not normalized to all the gender identity pronoun stuff but grammatically you can use they/their/them to refer to one person. The main singular gender neutral pronoun is 'it', but that feels weirdly dehumanizing to call someone an 'it', so 'they' can be used. Ex. I didn't like the teller at the bank, they were really rude. It's weird but its been the commonly used singular gender neutral pronoun when talking about humans for a long time.
