Honoring and missing you Tommy 🕊 but since your voice forever sings and conveys comedy we are with you 🕊 RIP Tommy 🖤 Also honoring those who focus on our world and meditate, pray or concentrate on life and living.
Tommy Smothers, one half of the legendary Smothers Brothers comedy team, has died at the age of 86, following a recent battle with cancer.
Dick Smothers, Tom’s brother and co-star of the celebrated and groundbreaking Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour, announced that Tom was at home with his family at the time of his death.
Smothers is survived by his children Bo and Riley Rose Smothers, grandson Phoenix, Marcy Carriker Smothers, sister-in-law Marie Smothers, and several nephews and a niece. He is predeceased by his son Tom and sister Sherry Smothers.
Dick Smothers stated, “Tom was not only the loving older brother that everyone would want in their life, he was a one-of-a-kind creative partner. I am forever grateful to have spent a lifetime together with him, on and off stage, for over 60 years. Our relationship was like a good marriage - the longer we were together, the more we loved and respected one another. We were truly blessed.”

I'm also very sad to hear of Tommy's passing.... The two were a near perfect combination....& Tommy wouldn't have been AS funny without his brother Dick setting it all up.... Together they were absolutely brilliant.

As I listen to this I laugh and grin and chuckle and grin even bigger. I solo enjoy(ed) you guys. You just don't know. So much respect. And you always kept it clean. Thank you! You were relevant and not politically correct but you were honest and clean while not stooping to being degrading. So funny! After listening to this and laughing, smiling, chuckling, I pause and it hits me - Tommy's gone. 😥 You were a joy, Tommy, and I liked you. Dickie I would give you a hug if I could. You were family. You could be my favorite cousins. The ones you never get to see enough. The ones you sincerely love and enjoy. Thank you for sharing part of your lives with us.
