Joker lived closer to the 52 Hoover Crip section and attended John Muir Jr. High School, but was more influenced by the Eight Tray Gangster crips. Shakur also discussed the establishment of the Northside section of the Eight Tray Gangster Crips. He recalls getting put on in 1979.

I'm a 60 year old blk man and came and lived in LA in 1985 I was 20 years old and lived on 46th and Broadway literally 46 blocks from downtown I was oblivious to all this gang culture now that I watch these videos I realize how blessed I was that no on ever pressed me I was aware I just minded my business and gave the respect that I wanted im sure people in that hood knew I wasn't from there matter of fact im from Arkansas can anybody tell me what hood that was in? Dam, I'm surprised he did not mention Twinkey as one of the 8 trays first casualties in 1980. Twinkey was highly reptuble. Monster Kody mentions Twinkey in his book, stating that the 8trays along with Twinkeys mother retaliated heavily for Twinkeys Murder. My cousins lived directly across the street from Twinkey on 84th place.. As a matter of fact, my cousins were palbearers and carried Twinkeys body to his final destination. My cousins told me that Monster Kody and Crazy de were always having 8 tray meetings at twinkeys house. I think Joker was a few years younger than Big Monster Kody and Cray de because he mentioned "lil Monster Kody" that would be Monster Kodys littlle Brother. The reasons why I mention Monster Kody and Crazy de is because they were two very reputable 8 tray gangsters.
