I designed an expansion for the 75339 Death Star Trash compactor set! I wanted to make it because lego did my droids dirty and made them their own little set!

Neat build! But also a little weird that you didn’t use the R2-D2 or C-3PO that came with the trash compactor set for a build that seemed to be designed for them. The R2-D2 didn’t have back printings and the C-3PO had a dual molded leg meaning it came from the UCS land speeder

Cause he was “fixing“ the trash compactor with the goal of displaying those two figures, but aside from that he wasn’t pointing it out as criticism, but as a little weird, seeing as he’d already have those 2 figs on hand, so really it’s just you trying to start a fight, where there are no grounds for one

Awesome build. You could rotate R2’s head to the left as if he’s keeping look out whilst using the control. It’ll match with C3PO

Could also use the dark trooper set from earlier this year, gives you a basic deathstar looking hall. Can just mod it a bit and bam! But where's the fun in that?

costco here in the states had the dark trooper pack for under $20, just need to build the display stand base for it

Honestly I’ve found myself watching your mod and moc series and entire channel a lot lately bc it is so well done & filmed & edited (not to mention the projects are unbelievable) that I get to “escape” for a bit, so.. yeah that sounded creepy but I’m not trying to lol. Your channel & your level of attention to detail is beyond- so thank you (again) for doing this stuff, I’m sure there are thousands of others out there like me who just sit there & go “wait whaaaaat? Holy hell look what he made!” Speaking of which, I have a backlog of marvel sets I need your website for too lol. And to think I was “only getting the new Harry Potter wave” in 2018. 👀 keep up the amazing work, it is truly awesome to watch! You made me want the Sonic set, because I never paid much attention to it- til I realized it was “loosely” based on the OG Sonic 1 instead of the games I never played.. plus your mods to it made it just so much cooler. Looks really great along side the Trash Compactor diorama. I was quite annoyed when I saw lego just stuck C3PO and R2D2 behind the exit door.

Widescreen VHS of the original Star Wars Trilogy did exist. I own a Collector's Edition boxed set from 1992, which I ordered off QVC. The box had a hologram on the side and the fourth tape was the documentary 'From Star Wars to Jedi: The Making of a Saga'. It also included an abridged version of Charles Champlin's book George Lucas: The Creative Impulse. Now, whether the sticker on that specific cassette matches what was shown in this video, I couldn't say without hauling those out of storage to compare... but the fact remains, widescreen VHS copies of Star Wars were a reality thirty years ago.

when i got my parts it was about - £20 for all new parts but it may be different where you are and if you want new or used :)

Just an FYI - the skate piece for the mouse droid has changed to 18747 in Lego's store. Bricklink is down right now so can't check that. Your instructible shows it as 11253

As awesome as your expansion is, I think it could be even better if you made it a stackable mod! If you could make the driod platform about 1/2 the depth of the trash compactor and somehow make 2 beams toward the front sides of the trash compactor, you could then have the expansion stack above the trash compactor supported by the trash compactors back wall and the beams without limiting the trash compactors functionality. Plus this way it would truly be an expansion that attaches to the trash compactor set!

Nice expansion just one thing bugs me when you showcased it both R2 and C3PO did not come from the trash compactor set with R2 not having the back printing and the C3PO having the dual molded leg.

its because I don't have the trash compactor set yet and the pieces I ordered from it didn't turn up in time either, I plan to get the full set but money, ill wait for a sale XD they are just the most recent r2 and c3-po I had, point still stands though when I get the pieces ill update the pictures :3

Because things age. That thing is probably 10x more brittle than it was when it was first shipped out the factory, not to mention that considering its an original copy of one of the most popular movies in existence its also probably 1000x more expensive than it was when it first released.
