In this video we go over the important things to note about the Adidas Trae Young 2.
Cushioning setup remains the same as the Trae Young 1, with LightStrike in the forefoot and Boost in the heel. Good responsiveness and compression on feet, although it is a stiffer landing on the front. Traction is good on both clean and dusty courts from my experience, no major issues. However, the fit is the biggest problem in my opinion, as you should at least go true to size or up a half size if you dislike the tight and snug fit. In fact, there was too much tightness squeezing down on my feet from the top, and this time the Primeknit upper didn’t feel as flexible on this low top setup.

You should make a huge comparison video with like, the mainstream Adidas shoes. Young 2, Dame 8, Don 4, Harden Vol 6, etc. Great video as always.

I went bananas when I seen him wearing them in game! Just found some good deals, got the black/white & red/white colorways. Good fit when my foot is SQUEEZED in, but I had to use my knife to cut the sides down for more room. Same for the Barkley 94s

For me it's a great shoe. I play combo guard. I think it's a good shoe for guards.

These shoes are very tight on the top, due to the snug sock-like fit. Assuming you are stuck with this shoe or it's non-returnable, has anyone tried cutting the upper sock on the top slightly to loosen up the tightness, to see if it works better? If the upper sock loosens up too much, we can fallback on the laces?

I owned the shoe got it for USD$17.49 size 11.5 US MEN’S my colorway is the Chinese new year 🧧 version with the rope laces it fits me especially in the mid foot extreme well I have flat feet normal width I will say I switched the rope yezzy 350 style laces for flat ones because on the medial ankle bone side of my right foot the rope laces hurt quite a bit to much pressure against the right foot medial ankle bone but once I did it got a lot better and I quite like it now

Im a flat footer and i like my shoes to blend with my foot. Will trae 2 be a good choice? The way it is made looks like itll adapt to my feet. I dont mind getting a bit uncomfortable if its durable for its price.

It should be a durable shoe, but the Trae Young 2 is honestly one of the most disappointing shoes this past year to me… For us flat footers you’ll experience some soreness from the upper squeezing your feet too much, and that’s even after sizing up - so not recommended based on my experience.

Wonder if trae hates lacing up his shoes, thus why adidas is reducing the amount of laces on his shoes. He seemed to really love the next levels from what I can recall.

@@TommyLiu4 I kinda wish that they just Integrated whatever they used on the next levels on his signatures. But atleast with this model we can see that adidas is definitely making an effort to fix the fit and lockdown issues of their shoes. It's a shame though cause I kinda liked the look of this shoe

The first trae young shoes cheap tongue cut into my ankles anterior tibial tendon. Very uncomfortable

Would you say it makes sense to cut the collar a little bit ? I went true to size and wonder if I should’ve gone up .5 since I’m wide foot

Yeah I definitely think half size up is needed, maybe even full size up.

I'm pretty bummed to be honest. I love watching Trae hoop but his shoes have been a let down, at least that's what I think. He deserves better from Adidas
