0:19 I honestly dont know how yamamoto can keep darting in and out chasing those balls without colliding with any of the other players. Everytime he sneaks in to recover a blocked attack i can't help but feel nervous he will get stepped on by the hitters when they land from their jump. Tomohiro "no kneepads needed" Yamamoto 😊🇯🇵

He doesn't need to be tall because he can't attack

They dont need do serve or spike, they dont need to attact opponent directly, their focus is on receiving, defence and keep the ball alive, the short size help them to move easily and to watch the ball more clearly and add time to decide to where they will direct the ball to,

Usualy they are shorter cuz that gives the a better mobility. I mean they are naturally closer to the ground so it's easier for them to get the balls up. But tbh they are not that short I mean yamamoto is 1,71 so it's a bit short but like shoji is around 183 ou 185 (so that's already taller than average ) and grebennikov is 188 so that's pretty tall (i mean its short for volleyball but it's tall in normal life)
