Table tennis is becoming more interesting, more attractive for beginners, and more entertaining with longer rallies, more techniques visualization, more athletic techniques visualization in 2024, thanks to that many professional tournaments choose lightweight balls. Even the new 2024 year Nittaku balls are more lightweight than old Nittaku balls. But these balls need to become more lightweight, for example 2.5grams balls instead of 2.7 gram balls. Lightweight balls are great for table tennis sport. It makes table tennis become more attractive and easier to begin for beginners in our busy world. It is very important to make table tennis become easier for beginners, because nobody will pay few years to train just for capably beginning play amateur social table tennis games in our busy world. Today in our busy world, people require that the minimal beginners training time of table tennis to be just FEW WEEKS, BUT NOT FEW YEARS AS IN THE CURRENT VERSION OF TABLE TENNIS WITH HEAVYWEIGHT BALLS 2.7GRAMS. It can be achieved by apply lightweight balls, for example 2.5grams balls, then it exactly will require beginners to train only few weeks in table tennis with lightweight balls to get skills to begin play serious amateur table tennis games for funs/healths/communications. It will attract billions new beginners come and remain playing the version of lightweight ball table tennis as social sport. Thus of course it will put table tennis sport in new leap high level of popularity in entertaining television and in worldwide social playing sport too. Of course it will put business of table tennis equipment manufacturers in new leap prospect and profits WHEN BILLIONS NEW BEGINNERS CAN EAYSY PLAY REAL SERIOUS AMATEUR GAMES OF THE VERSION OF 2.5GRAMS LIGHTWEIGHT BALL TABLE TENNIS AFTER JUST FEW WEEKS OF TRAINING. Thus it is common motivation for all, for ITTF, for table tennis equipment manufacturers, for table tennis tournament administrators, for table tennis sponsors, for new beginners, for professional players ... TO AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLY REACH TO CONCENSUS OF APPLYING NEW LIGHTWEIGHT BALLS IN TABLE TENIS, FOR EXAMPLE APPLY THE 2.5GRAMS LIGHTWEIGHT BALLS INSTEAD OF THE CURRENT 2.7GRAMS BALLS. Do you want to attract billions new beginners playing and remaining playing table tennis ? Lin lost to Harimoto at a WTT final in 2022, and he even shed tears at the award ceremony. He said later publicly that he would not want to regret that he could have won but did not. This is a fantastic match, the best against Harimoto so far. Lin has not won a Single's Gold of ITTF in his career, and I hope that he could change this record tonight at the Finals. Good luck with the Dragon!

Harimoto is not given much chance to attack the ball as Lin keeps it short. Lin attacks over the table very well as he stays close. If Harimoto manages to attack, Lin is so quick, he counters and Harimoto has trouble recovering for the 2nd ball.

Harimoto is one of the fastest players. However, he was playing against a player who is two grads faster than him. Usually, speedy Lin either commit too much unforced errors or has a mental breakdown to negate his speed advantage. This time, neither happened. Lin was lightening fast while hitting almost all the shots and Harimoto was doomed.

Harimoto has been playing on the world circuits since he was 15 years old and it seems that his game hasn't evolved at all. His forehand is still weak and his backhand only works on the table. Impossible to dispute backhand with Gaoyuan, I would say it is one of the 5 best backhands today. Still, Harimoto has room to improve but he seems to be a player that no other player is afraid of
@lots_of_numbers7580
@lots_of_numbers7580 26 күн бұрын
Nah, Harimoto has improved a lot recently actually. Feel free to argue, but his forehead first opening has became much better, and he has developed a very smart and efficient backhand block, where he changes the paste and focus on tempo and placement. His backhand only works close to the table cuz he chooses to play like this. There's no problem with that honestly. You saying his forehead is still weak, but you can't really go from a backhand player to a forehead player, that's not how table tennis works. You should be good at things that wins you points and mask weaknesses as much as possible. Good example of that is Zhang Jike's forehand, it's never his strongest side, and not the prettiest honestly, but it functions enough to win him games most of the time. Also Harimoto has gone through the tough highschool in Japan, and got pretty decent grades into university it seems. On the other hand, Lin is just a superb player. He's techniques is definitely one of if not the fastest, and the only factor limited him was his mental games, but the 4th game has clearly shown that hes has that improved recently.
@raymondlu3944
@raymondlu3944 26 күн бұрын
Not so much about him not improving, it’s more about he’s mental game, he seems to lack the fearlessness that he had when he first came onto the circuit. And also modern day technology, there’s more game analytics that come into play and more people are working him out, and there haven’t been any drastic changes to he’s game

Thnx ITTF for this camera angle! I think Harimotos tecniques needs some alterations. Taking the ball early is very adventageous but also very risky. The reliability of this shot is very low and this results in very fluctuating performances. May be the table and moisture in the environment changes the balls bounce resulting in unforced errors. His blocking tecnique is very unique and fun to watch but he must have a mid range classical attacker style too or combine these two. I am not sure whether LG was very good or TH was bad.

Harimoto seems to have not progressed much since his childhood. Perhaps it's because he has grown too tall? In any case, his speed and power are not very impressive. His characteristic counterattacks are also something his opponents have prepared for, so it seems his competitiveness on the world stage has significantly decreased. Hang in there, Harimoto.
