Amazing video. You did an awesome job explaining how to add different spin with the same motion. It not only helps me to replicate the serves , but allow me to decoding them when is my turn to receive. Please, make more videos like this one, analyzing the serves of the pros and trying to replicate them.

Dude you're killing it! Small tip for the no spin/back spin serve for everyone out there (I think you just forgot to mention it): Stomp your foot on the ground at the moment of contacting the ball. Due to flat hitting vs brushing being the main difference between the variations the sound of the ball can very easily give it away to your opponent. Great video, excited for the next part!

I would say though that making sure to also sometimes stomp your foot on the other servers too or your opponent may see the pattern of you stomping when its a no-spin

If backspin: Push or Loop (short = push , long = loop) If sidespin: topspin the ball If nospin: same as with sidespin If top-spin: top-spin it back / block it (heavy spin = block , not so heavy spin = topspin stroke) In general, if it is long, it is better to try to loop the ball since you begin attacking first. If it's short you should attempt to either add to the spin already on the ball (making it harder for your opponent to attack) or you should try to backspin it (does not work against topspin and nospin). Hope I expressed myself clearly, and if I'm wrong correct me

Thank you very much for posting all this teaching/tips/techniques ! Your channel is surely one the best place on KZfaq where to learn tabletennis properly ! By the way ,there are lot of vids explaining or teaching how to serve in a certain way but none of them explaining the next step , so after the opponent receive how should one prepare to go on with the rally and how to get in an advantage / attacking position . So what should be done after the serve to get a point ? Why sometimes we serve in a very affective way, with lot of backspin for example, but then we don’t win the point? It would be great if you can help me to better understand this ! Thank you any way... keep it up with these perfect lessons !

THX and that's a great suggestion. I kinda mentioned it (like for hook serve u should wait in the middle of the table for the third ball). But if I go into detail it'd be too long. This vid is mainly about serving and I'll probs dedicate another vid talking abt third ball attack.

Par Garell uses following variations- i. Chop serve+real chop follow through ii. Chop serve+fake topspin follow through iii. Topspin serve+real topspin follow through iv. Topspin serve+fake chop follow through v. Then he can also do weak/no spins with either up or down follow through vi. He also has mastered heavy kick serve…basically very strong fast topspin
