Tomos Targa Moped Tire upgrade installation

In this video I'm going to show you how to change a tire on a Tomos Moped in this case its a Targa however it could also be applicable to the LX model with the top tank and every Moped out there such as Puch, Motobecane, Vespa, Piaggio, Magnum, minarelli, city bike, motron, prior, Honda, sachs, and many others. This video specifically is going to show you how to put on a Shinko SR714 tire which is a really good quality aftermarket tire for the Moped that is actually speed rated and I used an inner tube for this installation because the owner has a problem with punctures with the way that he drives it. there's a lot of things to consider whenever you're putting the tire on the Tomos Moped as far as chain adjustment so I've gone over that in more detail than I normally would hence the reason the video is so long. Followed step by step and successfully changed my tire on my 2011 lx today. The stretching of the new tire was a bit tough with worrying about everything that could go wrong but everything else was seamless and im back on the road!

Excellent level of workmanship. I wish I had a mechanic like you in my area! Great video, very helpful. I just bought a 2001 Tomos Sprint and the back wheel is bent so I'm going to have to replace it and this will be my guide.

Hey foxboss, great video! Im trying to get about servicing my Tomos A35. I would like to take the left engine cover off. But can it be true that i woulc have to dissample the oil injectin/ oil pump, to remove it?

Oil injection pump should be able to stay intact but it's not a big deal if you have to

@@Foxboss9 Aight, thanks for returning to me! My problem is that there is hole which the tubes go trough to the behind of the engine cover, so unless i get the tubes off, i can't really get it off. And those tubes scares me, hehe. Do you need special equipment to take those tubes off? - I cant fit the engine cover back anymore either and an O-ring fell off when i was messing with it. Its for where the flywhell spins the oilpump. Excuse me the terminology ain't correct. :) My old grandpa used to help me, but he ain't here anymore, so now i got hes workshop available.

@@Fireflierificationyo I hope when you put your front sprocket/flywheel cover back on you aligned the oiler stud into the slot. It's actually easy to remove the oiler. There's a rubber and metal piece that holds the lines in place a certain way. Hard to figure out first time if you don't know because they fall out as you remove the cover sometimes. First the metal piece goes in from behind like an upside down cross actually. Yikes. Then the rubber piece slides into the slot and pressure pins the metal piece in place which keeps yours lines in place.

My front wheel won't fit all round the outer track when puttin on the rim I put ad 40 and still won't pop up

great video but i like to put tube and tire on at the same time by putting tube in tire then putting tire on rim.

I would use a tire iron tool instead of screw drivers, so you don't puncture the tube.

Both nuts should be on the outside of the rim , don’t leave one inside as shown.
