holy shit. the sound engineer needs a fucking raise. literally perfect. pure talent on that board.
@deathbastardable9 жыл бұрын
That's truly one of the great things about smaller, more regional shows like these: the sound engineers hired are absolutely passionate about the music and delivering the best possible sound quality to its audience and listeners. I'm not saying engineers for major events and big venues don't have the same passion, but it seems to me like these guys just have a default mix used for all genres of music, essentially just taking the paycheck and leaving. I'd take a cozy, intimate festival over a 300,000+ weekend monster any day of the week.

I have to say though, I saw Pumpkins at the Wells Fargo in Philly last year and the acoustics were absolutely amazing for a stadium-ish venue like that. I jumped the gates at the end of the show as everyone was leaving to shake the audio engineer's hand at the FOH console. He greatly appreciated it, and security greatly DID NOT :D

To everyone commenting about the tall guy, I was to his right with the curly hair. We were on top of one of the concrete supports for the tent. I'm pretty tall so I was crouching in order to let the people behind me see but he was standing. The crouching made me really have to pee by the end of the set and it was so crowded that it'd take an hour to get out. I stage dived off the barrier during the CAFO outro drum solo, the crowd carried me over the barrier just as the show ended and I was the first person out of the tent and into the portapotties. I still wish we could've grabbed a beer, shot the shit and watched Meshuggah. We didn't know eachother before clambering up there and ended up being coincidentally from neighbouring cities in Canada.

I'm crying right now, because I'm watching the next Hendrix. Jimi always wanted to be versatile and actually was leaning towards jazz- Nine to The Universe album, where he actually had never played with anyone on that album before recording- fully improvised, and yet made it his own- listen to it! Tosin is the new innovative, multi- genre guitarist, who just happens to be black. I am not black, but I know and you know, that when you go black in music, you never go back! Ha! ( excluding all Drake, Kanye affiliated types, who wouldn't know what an instrument is, until they were whacked in the face with it- Please do !)
