Thanks for really good review. We have had one for 4 years, and I have never even noticed the Strong button, until you showed the feature. We use Ethiopia Yirgacheffe mixed 50/50 with Eight O'Clock Dark Italian Espresso, both whole bean, and this has been our constant for about 11 years, having a Melitta Mill * Brew, actually several. This B&D maker is a really nice improvement over Melitta MB, from which they obviously modified the design. We keep our maker set for heater turn-off immediately after the brew cycle is complete, to prevent any harsh after tone due to evaporation. We also promptly wash the basket, basket holder, and water director from the lid, after brew cycle. Washing the basket promptly prevents the grounds from drying into a packed mass.

I've had this coffee maker for several years and I was never disappointed, but now the glass carafe broke and I cannot find a replacement for it. Looking to maybe getting a whole maker with a blemish for cheap. Thank you for the tip. Something I do not like about this Black & Decker is the blinding power button light that happens to shine right in my eyes when standing in front of it, and that it does not offer a water filtering system. Other than that, this coffee maker has been reliable and easy to use and clean. I normally shoot the grinds over my backyard grass and clean the filter with the sprayer in my faucet. Another thing I forgot to mention is that the printed words on the buttons disappear over the years; I wished the words would have been recessed in the plastic. But for the price… I am not complaining.

I won this coffee maker on eBay if memory serves me I got it for about $30 it’s my back up lol I’m using it right now but I stop using it for a while because I hadn’t figure it out thinking I has to always use the grinder but you don’t

I'm having trouble deciding which to get. My issue is it being loud and my kiddos would hate it. In your opinion which do you believe isn't the loudest? I've seen some of your cusinart reviews as well. Did you do a decibel test?

It is junk it just chops the beans not grind them need a burr grinder like cuisinart's
