Watching these people voluntarily destroying mostly very nice vehicles is startling. The water is CLEARLY deep. You can tell that at a glance. This isn't some deceivingly deep puddle. It's a pond.

Once the water has gone past the air filter it's too late, drying the air filter out won't help, the damage is done.The water is physically stopping the engine from turning over. Attempting to start just wrecks things even more....at least they're keeping the local garages busy 🤣

I used to drive taxis and got stuck once right in middle engine stopped the lot. I panicked opened the door and water came flooding in so closed it said a prayer and started the engine . It started and I put it in 2nd gear and we drove out . I drove all way to Newark the car intact . Things could have been alot worse especially when I rented the car from the taxi company lol 😆

You can see this car just went through the water got his headlights on under the water I've learned from watching things on KZfaq and only takes one to two feet of water to float a car away you can see his car's floating there.

i don't understand what people expect there to happen? i get those locals with old bangers who do it for entertainment, but people who try to go thru with expensive cars or work vans, just WHY? anyone with common sense would realize that 99% of stock vehicles won't make it thru cuz engine will hydrolock. and second dumb thing, if you absolutely HAVE to give it a try, just go backwards and with bit more speed .. there's a good chance that water won't reach the air intake if you go backwards and faster.

Does it say how deep the water is? Pretty easy to just misjudge it unless there were signs, I was out for a walk once and there was a really flooded bit of road. I got a long stick and used it to probe how deep it was for a car trying to cross, it was just under 2 feet so he made it but it could have been 1 foot or could have been 4, really hard to tell.

I'm amazed at the locals waving them on and filming! After seeing hundreds destroy their cars it would be easier to stop them BEFORE, rather than towing them out after. But what do I know... The upside would then be if someone disregarded the good advice, the ordeal would be a LOT sweeter to behold : )
