Thanks for your support, I want to apologize for not reply promptly I needed to test out my gps to answer your question honestly. To answer your question you can put in a name of a place and the gps will pull it up, however for accuracy you want to put the city that it is in first. Here is an example Stuio Movie Grill Arlington,TX, I'm going to have to put Arlington, TX in the gps then the name of the place I want to go to.

@@chrisdavis4032 Hi Chris! Thanks for a quick response!!! That's the tricky part. I'll give you an example. We love hiking, for example, I found a great trail. But there's no physical address of that location, just trail and small road heading to that trail you can drive your car. What I do on my Samsung Galaxy smartphone, and I think you can do it on any smartphones with Google maps, you just hold your finger on that spot for second and it drops a little point like this 📍. Then you just click on Directions button and it gives you the route. Honestly I never used any GPS system before except my phones. Recently we were traveling in the area where it was no internet available and I thought may be I can try one of these systems. Not necessarily TomTom, some GPS will take us back to our base, home or other final destination. Still in search. Don't worry man if you can't find the answer. Thank again!!!

Thank you for responding, there are more advanced gps out now. But to answer your question about bluetooth the gps can alert you of speed cameras without connecting to bluetooth. If you want to connect it to your phone you can through bluetooth.

@@chrisdavis4032... I like it. I used it to go to a friend's house and it took me some way I had never gone before, but I got there in half the time. It avoided all the usual traffic. I'm very happy with it. It's very user-friendly, with a large enough screen so that I don't have to strain to see it.

Question with the loss of traffic data are you updating your gps?

@@thelonelywolf88 I don't use my phone I just use the gps. The phone app does not work that well, I don't bother using it I just use the gps. Now maybe I'll connect the gps and phone via bluetooth for calls but that is it. I don't use tomtom gps app for my phone just google.

Trey Trey unless you need to update your gps they all should be working with satelite. But in your case get a gps that has a world map. The one I am showing only has a map of Canada, U.S. and Mexico. The one you get will be more expensive but it will be higher quality.

If you go to the settings and look for volume I believe it is there.

If you click on menu the volume appears at the bottom of the screen there you move the volume with your finger to adjust the sound

What is waze? Is that another gps?

@@chrisdavis4032 if you live in the USA and use waze i highly doubtyou will go back to tomtom. I still keep my old tomtom in the glove compartment just in case my phone gets destroyed in the middle of a trip or something.

My experience with this device has been that the device only displays streets.

I would not put this on a motorcycle. It does come with an attachment but it is not reliable mine keeps falling off when I'm driving in my car.

Great Question the audio can be very low here is how you adjust it. Hit Menu and when you do look at the bottom of the screen, you will then see a volume slide bar, touch with your finger and the slide right to increase volume slide left to decrease volume.

I'm seeing that you might want to look at the Garmin GPS. I believe with the modern GPS you update them through wifi.

@@chrisdavis4032 it's the main road, o want to select "alternative route" but I couldn't play with it while im driving, I thought tomtom will pick up my new route, but it keeps going back to the same road, (one that was closed,)

@@mishunot it should make sure the gps is updated with the new map. Every now and then I have to check to see if their are updates.
