There's far more talent in that band than in every Britain's Got Talent yet broadcast.

That drummer is a superstar. He's smashing it so hard that at 9:20 one of his cymbals falls over! Utterly, utterly fantastic track, amazing performance, glorious crowd. This video is entirely without flaw and meets or exceeds all applicable standards of excellence. I'll catch these guys for sure if they're ever playing near Oban.

All Hail the Vatersay Boys - popped up on my Apple play sequence after listening to Skipnish. Just love this Coismul Galley Tune - here I see so many just dancing to it - incredible. Listening from Alberta

We were at a Ceilidh on Vattersay Summer 2022 - there were only two of them but it was amazing. All generations dancing together!

Goosebumps when the pipes kick in every time. Had the pleasure of having a few drinks with the lads whilst in Galway a few weeks ago. Great musicians and great Craic.

Goose pimples on the goose pimples. Super band, super song - you don’t have to be Scottish (or even Celtic) to enjoy this!

I’m the same sir,when them pipes kick in I just what to burst out crying,it’s a weird feeling
@michaelcabz4 жыл бұрын
martinkscott it’s so uplifting. Music has a remarkable way of bringing out emotions in people. Imagine that venue in Glasgow was packed with young people on New Year’s Eve and when the pipes kicked in they absolutely lose their minds. Would have loved to have been there. As I said above, they were in Galway for one of the band members stag night. They had the pipes out and played in every pub that they went in to. Great nights fun.

Michael Carberry I’ve been to see them in the barrowlands years ago,my mate asked me to go and I’d never heard of them at the time,it was absolutely sensational 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

What I wish 'Old Years Night' could sound like every year, but the tear filled reality aside I wish everyone a happy New Year when it comes round especially my Mum.
@granthardy355010 ай бұрын
An added bonus is a happy Father Jack on electronic bass further lifting the crowd.

That night will live with me forever,we missed the last train home but I could have flown home cause I was on such a high,the sound when the bagpipes kick in still gives me the chills 👌🏻👌🏻

This is of course the tune that makes the movie "Local Hero" so very very very great! Thanks for posting this version. I'm not from Scotland, but it sure makes me miss my highlands!

Oh my goodness, no one is better! They played at the first ceilidh I ever attended (on Vatterssay) and I've never heard anyone better. Thank you Vattersay Boys.

And right now I really wish I were in my hut on Coll...it's hard to get these islands out of your blood.

Libby Koponen Couldn't agree more - saw them play in a pub in Castlebay in Barra when we were sailing a few years back - unforgettable.Barra is a magical island - as is Coll - have visited Arinagour many times.

Man, found this channel randomly looking for Tim O'Brien on youtube. Brilliant. I love celtic/folk/bluegrass, and was learning the GH bagpipes, so glad I came across this. I want to listen to practically everything. And someday I'll make it to Glasgow during World Pipe band Championships. Last two times I was over there it was winter. :( Thanks again!

'S e na Balaich Bhatersaigh craic mhòr a th'annta, ceart gu leòr! Especially live, and even more especially on home ground on the Isle of Barra - I saw them at Barrafest some years back and the home crowd went absolutely bananas. A gig that will stay in my mind to my deathbed. This is a far bigger line-up than they usually have - usually it's just a 4- or 5-piece, depending on who they can rope in for gigs, but there are loads of extra pipers on this stage. Thanks for posting the video - it brings a smile to my face, tears to my eyes, and a lump to the throat. I must get back to Barra this year!
