You can take all the guitar parts and write songs around them. Record bass, drums, keys and vocals. It will be a hit.

Yeah, this guy blows me away. He just has songs coming out of him. I'd love to know to what extent this is improv vs ideas he's worked out in advance. In either case he plays it in real time with his utmost intent, and that's what makes him great -he's never just noodling. That's the important takeaway.

I bought this amp about a year and a half ago. I cannot say enough about it. Five watts can be really loud, so the attenuator is used all the time in my modest office. Used, they are going for 750 to 1000 US. Get it!

Great playing and great demo Jack! Nice little amp and for boutique quality not a bad price. With the amp on 9 the sounds were totally rock 'n roll. Beautiful!

I based my purchase of the gremlin off of this review. Received amp today. Played to try and dial it in. Sounded fanfickingtastic by itself. Played with band tonight and was blown away at how instantly comfortable and balanced this amp sounds. I bought to simulate the sound of my favorite 1973 silverface vibro-champ. Thanks for the demo. This thing plenty loud for my needs

A great review enabled by great and tasteful playing. This is fast becoming a must watch channel. And that amp.....what a secret weapon - it address all my reservations about the fender counterparts - 12" instead of 10" speaker, attenuation capability, dealing with chords without bottoming out or getting too fuzzy. Really demonstrated well by your playing though - thanks Jack.

Even basses - the bass guys on ‘the other’ big guitar store KZfaq channel do no research, don’t know what they are talking about except piss poor knob jokes and it really annoys me. Despite Peach not being a massive source for bass gear, I’m really behind their whole vibe, and would choose them every time. I can see ‘the other’ big guitar store from my bedroom window too.

Man that has some sweet compression when doing the chicken pickin thing! I’m falling for this amp a bit more every time I hear a demo of it. Even has some Vox like chime to it. That’s what I’m always looking for is a mix of Fender and Vox type vibe.

I bought this and loved it. Then i bought the imperial because i thought it would be the gremlin but with more features. totally different amp. I love the gremlin so much more. i sent my imperial II back.

I had both a gremlin and Imperial Mkii on loan for a while and I much preferred the Gremlin… I only play at home for fun and I didn’t need the extra power of the Mkii and at the levels I play at (80-90db) I strongly preferred the tone and feel of the gremlin. The bass is also very different between the two. The Mkii bass is lively and open but I preferred the tighter and punchy bass of the gremlin. Both great amps don’t get me wrong, but I wrongly assumed I would prefer the mkii and I was wrong.

Had so many amps in and out of my office. This one is staying. The attenuator actually lets you play at volumes that won't get you evicted. By your wife. And it gets loud too!

bedroom amp is such an... it sells it so short. these are studio amps foremost, that happen to be useful in the bedroom or low-volume situations. anyone else here team Class A, single ended??? LETS GO

I just played a gremlin for the first time a week or so ago....if I'd been a little more flush with cash I'd have probably walked out with it...the best 5 watt amp I've ever played through....amazing for just bedroom or studio, but could easily be used live mic'ed...it's just a really expressive and nasty sounding amp...if you have the chops it will help!!!...

Jack (or anyone) - THoughts on this vs a Princeton 65 Reissue? I love the fact that it has an attenuator and still seems to have head room even at 5 watts. Seems like it handles pedals just as well as a Princeton too...Would probably want some type of reverb / delay if it's not part of the amp. Great demo man.

Great demo, and great playing. Most people are only going to use a selection of its sounds, but you've gone to the trouble to show the range of what can do, including with a boost pedal in front of it. Speaking of which, I couldn't quite catch the Wampler model name (was it a Tumnus/ Deluxe Tumnus ?), and (sorry to pester) but if you could tell us what settings you had on it, that would be very helpful. Thank you.

I've been watching some recent unboxing videos from these guys and I clicked on this one because of the amp (duh) but then it hit me, this is the same cat but he looks and sounds like he's 12 , this is just three years old, see kids ,playing guitar builds strong bones and adds bass to your voice, what hasn't changed is his guitar chops which are very nice, just don't ask him to read a spec sheet

I think the key here is the 12 inch speaker. I have a number of smaller amps but none of them have a speaker exceeding 10 inches, I can imagine the 12 inch speaker must sound great

Great demo. Beautiful playing. The one thing I would have liked to hear was a demo of the attenuator. Forgive me if I missed it. If I were to design an attenuator demo, I'd play the amp wide open and show an on screen spl in the room reading. Then step down on the attenuator, showing the corresponding spl readings, but normalizing the volume on the video, to reveal any significant tonal differences. I should note that "bedroom volume levels" is a MAJOR factor for me personally. I think you guys have the best guitar demos I've seen so far, in a large part due to Jacks excellent and versatile playing and his great ability to explain things. Thanks!

@@Kweesh thank you. Yes, I heard that. However this isn't really what I was asking for. We have no way of knowing what the volume levels were in the room. Showing that they are "less" is better than nothing, but doesn't really show that actual changes the way I suggested.

@@kerrymcauliffe9906 Do you measure SPL in your bedroom? Just normalise those parts yourself using the volume control. To my ears the attenuator does a good job of preserving the tone.

@@Kweesh lol...my amp in my bedroom is *in my bedroom*...is isn't being played through a microphone, an audio recording program, compressed onto a youtube video, and then played out through my speakers. The attenuator sounds decent for my ability to hear it, which is compromised by the facts I've already mentioned. Thanks for your thoughts though.
