Hey Kevin, I'm quite happy with my PAC-9. However, I enjoyed this demo very much (as I enjoyed the demo comparing the Maxon TSsi -- and which led me to order the ST-9 Pro Plus from you). I think that the A-B-C-D switching is extremely useful to all of us, even though the differences are sometimes very subtle. Your clarifications are also tops. Congrats!

I appreciate so much the intelligent and thorough approach. Wanting help from KZfaq is making me CRAZY 🤯😂 because so many guys wander all over the place, and don’t seem aware of the questions a viewer probably has in their mind about the gear. They are trying to be “entertaining”, or something?… On the other hand, you guys are very effective educators, who can stay focused on an actual topic. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. 👍

Thanks! I'm using the smallest one Express 5:25, amazing grab and go amp which serves any live venue purposes for me, tons of power!

This is a great video, thanks for posting. It would be great to see some videos like this with bass instead of guitar. Maybe do a video or a series of videos using each of the pedals you recommend for bass.

Until Kevin said his name I thought it was my cousin doing KZfaq videos on guitar stuff. Kevin you and my cousin are a spot on doppelgangers to each other. She plays in a Bay Area hard rock band called Stone Fox that was really popular back in the 90s. They just did a reunion show two years ago. Anyway, great video!

Haha, we'll have to look them up... I always thought Kevin looked suspiciously like the bass player from Non-Fiction. Hmmmmmm ;-)

I personally like the PAC9 the best. I like a lot of low end and volume in my chorus; I think it has more dimension that way. I actually CAN tell a difference between the CS550 and the CS9. The 550's larger chasis makes the pedal sound a little flabbier than the CS9 - more space means less definition in the sound.

Yea man the PAC9 is incredible.. can't explain why it just is.. there's a personality to it that's completely different than the others.. very unique chorus.

Great to know.. Theoretically putting any timed effect in front (Pre-Gain Stage) of a distorted amp will not sound too good. What Mesa are you using?

Thanks for the shootout! Want to notice that I'm using CS-9 in a series effects loop of my Mesa amp (first in fx loop chain) and it sounds unbelievable great, even better with an overdriven amp comparing to in front of it. Maybe that's theoreticaly wrong but works for me great! Thanks again.

ASC10 has to be heard through two amps, in stereo. It's nice in mono, but it's one of the most enjoyable stereo choruses I've ever played thru.

Where does the BC-9 fit into the picture? Does it sound more like a cs-505/PAC9 or more like a cs-9? Videos/reviews are scarce...

Ah, yes. Unfortunately the Maxon BC-9 is no longer in production. Based on the time it came out I'd say it's more closely similar to the CS-9. However the BC-9 is basically TWO choruses in one pedal and did some pretty cool sounds.
