I'm demystifying some more products in the Asian Skincare step system. Hopefully, this can be helpful towards your own personal routine. My own personal approach towards toners, essences and lotions is that you can't be legalistic about these steps - even though they exist, it doesn't mean your skin needs them all. So relax. :) The simpler your routine is, the more efficiently the products you NEED will work! Hugs!

5% glycolic acid changed my life. I'm 54 and have years of damage from using scrubs that broke my capillaries and messed up my skin barrier. I quit using the scrubs years ago, but recently picked up Pixie Glow Tonic and my skin is 6000x better! Thank you for explaining ingredients!!! I discovered your channel today and have been binge- watching your ingredient series. Knowledge is power. ;)

I tried the 7 skin method with pure maple water (not the May Coop toner, but just plain maple water) after watching this video. My skin was a touch sticky until I put lotion on. I have only been at it for 3 days but every day since, my usual oil slick skin is still balanced at the end of the work day when otherwise it's embarrassingly greasy. Thank you so much for this info, after years of not knowing what to use for my troubled skin and undoubtedly making it worse with harsh cleansers in my desperation, there is finally some hope! You are saving my skin!

Hi thank you for addressing my issue with the raw sauce. That makes sense how you explained it. I felt it was very comforting using it. But noticed since I stopped for a couple of days that under my eye area is less dry looking. Maybe I just need to keep it away from eye area. But I do love using. I will look forward to watching all your videos. You show a lot of very interesting ( never heard of products). At least for me. And I'm not going down without the fight. Thank you!!!

Hello Rene! Love your informative channel. I recently got into the Asian skin care and noticed a great difference! Can you do a video on what active agents counter act with others and what is good to use together. I think that would be so helpful with all the active ingredients in these products. It would decrease reactivity and increase effectiveness- which we would all love. Keep going strong Rene!

I'm sure you know, but so glad Hada Labo finally gave us the Gokujyun and Shirojyun lotions in sheet mask form - can buy as 6(?) pack of single sheet masks or bulk buy option which contains 30 masks in one reclosable foil bag. Bulk bags grossed me out initially, but have been loving keeping the foil bag in the fridge and using the mask in the AM when I need extra de-puffing/hydration punch (clean, clean, hands -so far so good).

Hello~ You mentioned you shouldn't use a toner before the Missha essence, does that mean this essence would be used in replacement of a toner or that if you are using this product you don't need a toner at all? Or should you use a toner after the Missha first essence treatment? I have been using this product for months and haven't noticed any results, however now I realize it might be because I have been using a toner before it.

Can you show/teach us how you're applying the Hado Labo HA onto your skin, almost like a mask.... Thanks! Debbie

I am confused, if you use a toner do you need a first treatment essence? I mean, are they substitutes or do they complement each other?

Love your videos! Did not love P50! For breakout skin it made mine even worse. Love Missha. Will try the others!

Can you do a video on cruelty-free and vegan products you have tried and liked? Just recently made to switch and am trying to replace my own skin care line-up with new products. Maybe also include which skin type the products are best for, I have oily/acne prone skin. Thanks!

Yay cruelty free!! Congrats on making that change:). Paula's Choice is cruelty-free & has some fab options, especially when it comes to chemical exfoliants (BHA & AHA...they have several of each) & toners (diff options for every skin type, though their entire line is really top-notch, esp given the reasonable price point, & the fact that they regularly offer additional promotions & discount codes (which, unlike most companies, can even be stacked 2 @ a time!). Another great option, though far pricier, is the Drunk Elephant line; the only thing of theirs I wouldn't fully recommend is their 100% Marula Oil...not b/c it's not good but b/c you can get the exact same thing for less than hall the price, whereas many of their other - in particular their serums & cleansing bars. are more unique formulations, aka a far better place to invest your $$!! For some add'l individual items, Pacifica's Sea Foam cleanser is great (& smells of coconut) and I LOVE Julep's Bare Face Cleansing Oil. The "Yes to.." line has some good items also, though not everything is great so I recommend checking out individual item reviews on Beautypedia before getting anything; off-hand I know that there are quality cleansers in their Coconuts as well as the Carrots lines. Good luck, & I hope the info helps!!

Hi! I love watching your channel...you are BY FAR , the easiest and nicest to listen too. You have a great soothing voice. I'm 46 and started a 10 step routine 5 weeks ago. My face had little bumps and redness all over it and I figured that was my skin just getting used to all the products, but I skipped the Missha FTE one night (it was hard to do - I love that stuff!) and my skin was so much smoother! Do you think fermentation effected my skin? I did buy the product from Amazon and maybe did not get a good batch? Maybe I have sensitive skin but I have read SO many reviews of the product and have not really found anyone who has reacted this way. Any thoughts?

I just came across your channel and I just love it! You're so informative and you've taken care of your skin soooooo well! I just turned 30 and since 4 years ago I've been having acne... :( My skin has always been sensitive but now it's acne prone, sensitive, combination and with dry patches on my cheeks! I will try some of the products your recommend and see if it'll help mine. Thanks

Hi, I'm new to your channel and I love your videos! So helpful. Watching this video reminded me of 10 years ago when I had a trouble finding tonic/lotion/essence/toner, however you call it, but for hydration and to prep the skin before applying moisturizer. I moved to Europe and it wasn't common at all back then. Now Asian method of skincare routine is more popular, and I'm really thankful for that! It's so much easier to get hands on them! I was wondering, but could you do a video about drug store skincare products recommendation? Even from high-end brands would be nice. I'd love to try your favorite products, but they are not so easy to find. (I can get Japanese ones when I go back to Japan, but I can't go there as often as I'd love to.) It would be great if you consider it. :)
