ToneWoodAmp for Acoustic Guitar

ToneWoodAmp for Acoustic Guitar

Күн бұрын

Tosin Abasi, the founder and lead guitarist of the instrumental progressive metal band Animals As Leaders and his sonic co-conspirator, Javier Reyes checking the #ToneWoodAmp. Things got intensely creative when we demo the TWA with MIDI Guitar and SampleTank apps.

@DrWienerful How exactly would it be nasty? I mean have you heard Para Mexer? I'm addicted to the song at this point. They have a decent amount of usage of acoustic guitars in their songs. So it would be a pleasant thing if AAL is going to have an acoustic album.

Jesus Christ Tosin is on another level with his thumping technique. I always thought that part near the end of Inner Assassins (3:42) was impossible to play that fast, but damn he just did it....and on a friggin acoustic guitar nonetheless. I can thump but I can’t do the index-middle-ring finger roll that fast. Even though I’m seeing it with my own two eyes, it just doesn’t seem possible to play it that fast and still have it sound clean.

I'm not sure what's happening. Is the midi sounds being generated live - realtime, or are they prerecorded and piped through the Tonewood Amp?
@ToneWoodAmpMagic
@ToneWoodAmpMagic 6 жыл бұрын
Realtime. There are two apps involved in this process: MIDI Guitar 2 which convert Audio to MIDI in realtine and SampleTank which act on these MIDI notes (and play strings instrument in this example). The sound TO the iPhone and FROM the iPhone back to the ToneWoodAmp is carried via single cable (AKA the "iDevice cable" which is sold separately). The musicians can play whatever they want and the virtual instruments will follow them. No prerecorded stuff.
