Southern Rock and Roll. I remember them playing Tampa back in '72 and they didn't stop for 4 1/2 almost 5 hours. Drum solo was 50 mins of just a$$ kicking battle of the skins. The band went back stage to snort some lines and drink a beer. Acid was FINE and the ride home in my Formula S Barracuda was exceptionally a Blast.

I saw the Allman Brothers babd in Chicago in the early 70s. One if the best concerts I ever went to. They were completely in the "zone" and wouldn't stop playing. I don't know how many encores they played, but the venue finally literally had to pull the breakers on the electricity because they wouldn't stop. I probably paid ten dollars for the ticket, tops. Allman Brothers and Marshall Tucker.....thanks for reminding me. Getting old too. 65 and still enjoying these great sounds. James Arness of GUNSMOKE was my father's best friend and after US Army we'd visit the TV sets. I remember when his daughter committed suicide after break up with Gregg. I attended Santa Monica High school and Pacific Palisades Malibu. Knew many great players 'up and coming'. We'd sneak in to WHISKEY-A-GO-GO on Sunset BLvd. at age 15. Crazy Hippies......stay cool dude

Watching this, I got the sense that Dickey went to another level when playing with Warren. And who wouldn't be inspired, considering Warren's such an outstanding player also. He previously played in Great Southern with Dickey, so they had some history together. Of course, Dickey's a master guitarist in his own right, as he proves here. I think playing with Warren brought out the best in him, no doubt.

Those of of us who were fans of the Allman brothers when Southern Rock exploded onto the Rock and Roll scene in the late 60s and early 70s and took over from the British invasion became big fans of Dickey batts's guitar playing and and the Allman brothers band fans became very loyal Dickie Betts fans throughout his storied career because of the easily recognized Southern Texas rockin blues roots of his guitar playing and Dickie was as recognized for his guitar playing as ZZTOP, the Winter brothers, and Stevie Ray Vaughn all of whom let their old school blues roots shine through on most of their biggest hits and their music is nearly as popular these days if not more and as long as there are videos and recordings of the Southern Texas rockin blues greats I'm thinking Southern Texas rockin blues will be pretty much timeless in popularity for who knows how many generations to come 😊😅😮😂❤😊❤😊
