the difference between being a hoarder and being prepared is organization! you are so organized!! love the case with the extras. and the pitting almost makes it look like a sculpture. lovely work. 5 ad breaks, 10 ads, 2 skippable.

The seemingly unending supply of super rusty Tonka trucks amazes me
@Toystorations2 жыл бұрын
My inability to find one rough enough to justify taking it apart to restore amazes me. No idea where these guys keep finding all these super rough trucks.

Even though I know that there's no danger to me seeing someone welding in a video, I always look away lmao. My parents got really into a welding class when I was a kid and hammered it into my brain a little too hard. Love the final look! Straight restos are cool but I also love seeing your creativity!

Bad ass!!! Nice sticker too!

I dig this. Love the polishing of the body. The overall theme gives me the vibe of a truck that would be on someone’s desk (desk art), or part of a trophy / award. The outcome is quite fun. Good job!

It takes a special ‘something’ to mod stock vehicles. Doesn’t matter if it’s a toy or a full-size car; KUDOS Joe!

One of my favorite shows that used to be on Motor Trend was Vegas Rat Rods or something like that and they made some of the coolest rat rods out there. This resto Tim is right up there with those "Ratties" for sure.👍🍻✌

Very very cool. After seeing the polish and clear coat - I think that looks better than the super chrome. And I think a flat color would have looked better than the brass....I think a flat black would have looked really cool. Definitely the rusty white wall look best. Very very cool!

Watching you do this is so calming. I want to learn how to do this. I have an old metal noisemaker, the crank handle kind, that needs to be restored. I need to learn this skill.

This turned out great, good job. You could do a rust converter on some rusty parts and then clear over that like some rat rodders have done. Also you could try shoe polish on the white walls to see if they can be stained to the look you want. Might take some trail and error to get it to work right.

Hey Tim, thanks for share another job! Can I be honest with you? I remember when you did other Tonka truck with lights and that one was an amazing job. This time the welding of the roof got weird. But don't give up, you are the best toy restorer of the youtube. Greetings from Chile.

Someone needs to make some Hot Rod type tires and wheels this scale. Cool build.
@Toystorations2 жыл бұрын
I found some very realistic tires that are a perfect scale for these trucks, I'm working on getting a mold of them to make a bunch of copies :) I agree, tires for these toys are really lacking.

Color isn't my favorite, but I love this thing! It'd look really good in a painted rust-like finish, IMO On another note, this thing would be siiiiick with a trailer made in the same style

Its cool
@hughwelsh2012 жыл бұрын
Now you need to RC this one with a high speed kit.
Well , that actually turned out pretty good. The pitting on that thing would have taken a bucket of bondo and hours of sanding to get rid of. Enjoyed the video and looking forward to your next one.

Great work as always! Tho I think the top chop was a tad too aggressive. It doesn't look like a driver could fit, or see out if they did. That's my only criticism.

I did something very similar, except painted, with a mighty tonka about 15 years ago.
