I started with cards because I fidget due to PTSD. I used to fidget with the folding knife I keep in my pocket, but I regretfully startled a gentleman who came from a culture where knives were considered an open threat. So, I started with cards, learning 1-handed cuts. From there came a few cardistry moves. From there people kept asking me if I knew any tricks. That's when I started learning sleight of hand. I appreciated how working through the technical complications requires concentration, practice, and skill. Suddenly, I found the thing that I was learning to bleed off psychic trauma was bringing joy and wondering to friends and even complete strangers. If anyone were to ask me if I believe in magical healing, I am compelled to say, "Yes."

This came out in 2016, I also started learning 2016 and Performing\Publishing Magic vids on KZfaq in 2017. I wish I'd seen it back then, but at the same time respect my own journey, making many wrong turns along the way. A very insightful video, thanks for sharing.

I knew a few self working magic tricks when I was a kid/teen but when I was 17 I learned "this, that, other". Such a simple trick but this showed me the method of magicians and this is when I devoted it to be my passion from one simple trick. Thanks to Brad Christian's street magick dvd's it really opened my eyes to tons of ideas across the board. Ellusionist ftw.

I'm not sure if I am being coaxed into sharing what my conclusion of magic and on magic is. The conclusion that I arrived at which I then went onward to things. Or went on about my things doing my things whichever they were. Now my take that I seem to not waive on of magic is that even if. First magic is a object that u know magician uses and only magician uses. Like a wizard and his staff or a staff. Or a cardist interacts with cards for cardistry. So a magician uses magic. A cards uses cards. Now returning to what is magic or at least my rendered take unwaivering. Is just because a magician has a object interaction with a finely crafted object does not make the holder any better so if u have a quite intricate object having that object will not make you any better. So giving a object to someone simple will not make them better at something because they have a object whatever it maybe. So magics a object and having access to that object or magical object doesn't grant the user or make the user any better. Like having a gun and still being a lousy shot. Having one doesn't make u a excellent shot and will always hit your target.

It's not about the moves! It's not about collecting the moves, it's about taking people as Spectators on a journey. The journey could be a made-up story but so are most books and most movies but we indulge in them anyway, that's why I tell most new magicians I would destroy you with a story and a simple trick faster than you can destroy me with moves.

Whoaaa what the hell is this?!?!? How did I find this? I feel like 2 of my favorite bloggers are getting talked too by an unmotivational speaker. All I learned from this is that Marlo and Vernon had different moves to accomplish the same thing. Booooooooring. No seriously right. There’s sooooo much bullshit being said scattered with curse words it’s hard to follow. The theory makes sense, but ide rather this be either a 10 min lecture or a table conversation. I love how he talks shit on the WOW then proceed to explain how he’s used it and his preferred handling. I feel like if you want to get into the trenches, and learn real sleight of hand, throw your fucking cards away. It’s boring and old hat. Its the cliche of I could make money with this, but I don’t because I’m too honest. Show me sleight of hand with a ring full of keys…. Or drawer full of silverware. Anything but a deck of cards. Steal my fucking ranch bottle!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
