Hmmm. I wonder what’s different in 2021 and 2022 that’s never happened before? Can’t think. Anyone who comments that it’s just more reported now is naive at best, and at worst a fool. We have eyes. It’s live on TV. We can see there are more incidents every week. They’re like those people who say our children are in no more danger than they were in the 50s it’s just reported more. I really hope they don’t HAVE kids. Like police chiefs who say crime is down it’s just the public’s perception of crime that has gone up!! Yes that makes sense. Said no one ever!

There are some nasty people around. It’s been suggested there needs to be education that this behaviour is not right but surely an adult would know being cruel to people or animals is wrong. Some people think nothing of beating up other people. A poor cat doesn’t stand a chance when these types attack & they think it’s funny. They need a psychiatrist to sort them out long term. What’s missing in their psyche? In the meantime there needs to be heavier penalties in the short term. When these people get away with it lightly they continue.

A group of young players being paid huge amounts of money is not really that new. Micah Richards - ex-City and England youngster - lived near us and had bought a luxury house and a number of cars by the time he was 20 … then got into the social scene and all the temptations that comes with it. Result was he didn’t ever reach his potential. In such an unequal world the amounts paid to large numbers of sports professionals, entertainers, actors, ‘celebrities’ and influencers makes it hard to get them to understand the true value of money and working your way up in the world.

The money has nothing to do with it, it's partly a failing of the manager to act as a role model for them, a lot to do with too few good agents who are meant to be there to help these lads deal with the pressures of fame and money at such a young age. Far too many agents are simply interested in engineering the next move so they can get their grubby hands on a big fat payday. Agents need greater regulation and managers need a long, hard look at themselves because the managers in the league that do offer themselves up as role models, are at clubs that never have these problems.
