With all due respect, Mullen was never really much of a street skater. Probably the best flat ground skater of all time without a doubt, but he never really does big gaps or handrails which is a requirement for any modern street skater to get any kind of recognition.

Fatalsprigs Better street skaters than Mullen? Way too many to name, but start with Mark Gonzales, Tom Penny, John Cardiel, Frankie Hill, Ed Templeton, Jamie Thomas, Geoff Rowley and Andrew Reynolds- and that's barely scratching the surface of pre-2000's street skaters. The pros nowadays like Nyjah Huston, Grant Taylor and Riley Hawk are continuing to push street skating to previously unforeseen levels.

So true cuz Rodney's dedication and passion, and understanding of skateboarding allowed him to ascend to a level that was unheard of and marveled at by his peers. And all these years later people still can't do the things he did. I think what I love most about Rodney is his humbleness and genuine spirit. This got me into skating back in 2002. I was 7 years old in Chicago in 1998 and my neighbor who I looked up to, this older kid, got a skateboard. I always wanted to copy him so I asked my parents for one. As most kids do I was hyped on it for a week or so then the board just sat around. Years later I had a PS1 demo disc featuring THPS2 and liked the game enough to ask for THPS3 on X-Mas. I wasnt trying to skate at all, just liked the games. Then I saw this video and it changed my life. I was so hyped on it I immediately went to my backyard to the shed to dig out my old board and as soon as my mom and dad came home from work I made them sit down and watch this. In that very moment I became a skater. I quickly picked up riding and eventually in summer 2002 during a trip to Florida my dad got me my first real skateboard, an element with destructo trucks and 53mm element wheels from Vans. Today at age 31, I still love skating and although I got a bad injury years ago and can no longer do it, I have amassed a skateboard collection worth 20K. Skateboarding still takes up most of my time and most of my life is still based on it. I regret to say out of my whole collection I dont own any Rodney boards. I heavily gravitated toward other brands and skaters after he got me into skating. But I'll never forget Rodney and what he did for me. Thank you Rodney Mullen.

I watched this so much in-game! This with my fav AFI song is the best skateboarding video I've seen to date. :) They should remake THPS 3.

I remember first beating the game. My fav character was RM and my fav song in the game was “the boy who destroyed the world”. When I finally unlocked the vid I was so happy that two of my favorite aspects of the game were combined by some Devine miracle lol. RM is a freak of nature. He makes the impossible look easy. Legend

It’s crazy, while I knew how insane this was when I was a kid, I never knew the extent of it until I got older. Not only was he was the goat of freestyle and invented many tricks, he decided to keep up with the change in skateboarding during that time and conquered the streets as well. Makes me appreciate him that much more than I did back then.

This was my favorite video part to unlock in pro skater 3. I watched this part so many times! Honestly, Rodney’s flatground tricks were a big part in my interest in skating. The dude didn’t even need any ramps or obstacles to WOW you. Just a board. And that is amazing to really think about compared to most other skaters. Makes me want to learn how to be amazing at something with minimal tools to my disposal, no matter what I do in life.

Saw this video playing when I was like 10 and fell in love with enjoi. 11 years later and I just painted and built my very own enjoi panda (white theme) board and am going to shred it proudly 🙏.. thank you rodney you inspired me to be unique and you were there when I was just a lonely fat kid playing video games

@True Roman He was prob in the spectrum. An autistic savant. That's why he understood the physics of the board so well and could do tricks that to this day no other pros have been able to master.
