@@SimonSkittleFace well he was a lot younger and was a LOT more famous a LOT younger. If you see him cameo in youtube videos now he seems like hes adjusted to his life and is quite normal. Also skateboarding really keeps you grounded and puts things in perspective. The best skateboarders in the world still get their asses handed to them every now and again and get humbled. Hollywood really fucks with your head tho, skateboarding is kinda the antithesis of hollywood.

It would be the sequel to Lords of Dogtown. Stacy Peralta went on to co-found Powell Peralta, home of the Bones Brigade. That's where Hawk hit the scene
@zendokai1527
@zendokai1527 4 жыл бұрын
@@shylohana6434 Could work... but Tony Hawk is pretty old now. I guess with that CGI they do to make you look younger, they could. His life seems pretty normal to me. A movie about him would probably only appeal to people who skate, which would probably not make so much money. Honestly, I wouldn't pay $7 at a movie theater to see a biography about Tony Hawk. I grew up with Tony Hawk. I know everything about him. I know his entire life story, and even if they made a movie about it, I'd still wait for the movie to be out online for FREE and stream it for FREE. soooooooo... Maybe in the distant future, after he's long dead and people forget, they will. But right now, I don't think they will. It's too anti-climatic. A legend really gets cemented into being a legend and the GOAT, after they die. Look at Ali. Before he died, everyone said Tyson vs Ali, but Tyson is the GOAT. After he died, Tyson himself transferred that title back to Ali. Everyone now considers ali the goat, not because he had the best boxing record, but because he was the O.G. The reason why being the O.G. is important is because if you took any boxer today and took them back in time, they'd probably lose to the champ. Simply because of less knowledge overall about the sport, which equates to less of everything else relevant to the sport. So if we took Tyson back in time to fight Ali, he would lose. Reason being, is Cus Di-mato wasn't born yet, therefore he didn't train Tyson, and Tyson's style of boxing wasn't even a "thing" back then. Boxing was a lot more RAW back in the day. There wasn't as much knowledge about techniques n all that as there is today. So taking all that into consideration, people like Tony Hawk or Ali, really are the greatest because they were the best, at the time, for what little technology and knowledge provided them, comparatively to today.

When you look at his peers from Hosoi and Lucero to Burnquist and Mullen, just to name a few, you can really get a feel for how long he was at the top of his game. Not a founding pioneer, but he brought the professionalism to the next level and changed to business while still skating top level. I’m an old guy who skated when boards had rails and tails & THIS guy was who we all wanted to skate like.

Tony is actually a real cool guy, I live in Northern Cali CS at the time I went to school w/ his nephew. We all knew who his uncle was threw storys n him sharing his last name, one day after school in 5th grade Tony Hawk shows up on a skateboard and picks him up from school. I was actually wearing a Tony Hawk long sleeve T and he thanked me for wearing it n being a friend to his nephew. Will never forget I did see him once or twice a year after. Funny enough too Tony's older brother embarrased him big time one of those days after school by saying he used to change his diapers lol this was in like 20 years ago. Wowwww

Met Tony at the THPS 25 year anniversary party while Bad Religion was playing. He was just chilling next to me and my friend in the back near the bar. He was rocking out to the greatest punk band ever with a drink and being the most down to earth and humble person ever. People weren't really bothering him (even though he was clearly the man of hour and evening) and if they came up to him, he was grateful and genuine. It was so rad standing next to him while rocking out and mouthing lyrics to Bad Religion.

Gonna respond to you all here. He's 100% underrated as a legend of his craft. COUNTLESS people are mentioned before him. Jordan, Ali, Woods, Phelps, Bolt, Mayweather, Messi, LeBron, Kobe, Tyson I could name 20 more legends that get more praise & recognition that Tony Hawk. Shit Joe called him the "lance Armstrong of skating" meaning he feels the name Tony Hawk doesn't hold enough weight
@jacobjohnson914
@jacobjohnson914 4 жыл бұрын
@@michael43567 Rogan was saying that Hawk was like Armstrong in that people who know very little about skateboarding/biking at least know Hawk/Armstrong. How could an underrated person be the face of their own sport? Sure skateboarding isn't as main stream as boxing or golf but saying Hawk is 'underrated' would not be the word I would use. I don't rate athletes across different sports, that's like comparing apples to oranges. Is Tupac underrated with respect to other genres? Possibly, but my point is that you've categorized someone into a bigger category that it just seems meaningless and frankly, pretentious.

We did everything from packing people's shopping in supermarkets to BBQ's and party get togethers as a small group of friends we raised £40,000 within 10 months towards the total cost of our skate park which 15 years on we see kids enjoy what we dreamed of which is a blessing, Tony hawk had and still has a huge influence on us all
