It's not that they signed flair, it's the hypocrisy of Tony claiming his product is the new cool thing but the first chance he gets he signs old WWE guys and gives them ridiculous amount of money

It's not so much that Tony hired Ric Flair as much as the fact a few weeks ago he took shots at Vince and his allegations and WWE using Cena and Taker to pop a rating. Then he pulls this, it shows how much of a hypocrite he is. Flair can do good for AEW as a manager if he isn't in a drunk stupor. People also don't want to see him in the ring to have another match. This is the biggest worry because Tony is a big enough mark to let it happen. Hell, I won't be surprised of Tony brings in Hulk Hogan now.

this whole moment is just confirmation that AEW currently is WCW circa 1999 and TNA circa 2010. Tony Khan is just like Eric Bischoff but somehow 10 times worse.

I respect the fact that someone made the effort and financial commitment to start a wrestling company. Wrestling needs an alternative to WWE for multiple reasons. I get the feeling that Tony Kahn is someone who grew up a fan like many of us, however grew up as the son of a billionaire and is by default detached. He probably gets told things he wants to hear instead of the things he needs to hear. I hope AEW will one day be a legitimate alternative to WWE, but that day isn't today. Someone needs to be hired in AEW that can filter the fan in Tony and be allowed to run the company like it needs to be.

just because they are Legends and are high value that doesn't automatically mean it will help the company growth if they have no relevance in modern storytelling and feuds. Yes, you can have them as trainees or managers to mentor these young guys and cement them as stars. No disrespect to Flair but he has no relevancy to the company but Adam Copeland on the other hand kinda does. He can still go, because AEW needs to have Star Power or veterans to help others to grow.

Khan's anti-WWE meltdown is also something I expect from these hardliner fans, considering how unhinged the tirades come off. It's a shame, really. I admit I do not like AEW cause of the hardliner fans I mentioned, but I can certainly respect how AEW took off as a promotion since its inception. However, if Khan wants these hardliners as his core customer base, he will be in for a rude awakening when he realizes at this base is not expanding. Considering all the money Khan has been doling out just to give WWE the middle finger, the proverbial pied piper may come knocking sooner than later, expecting to collect his payment. When that happens, we will see just how loyal these hardliners are (spoiler, they are not: they ditched Impact for AEW when the latter proved capable of standing toe to toe with WWE, they will leave once the next anti-WWE fad rolls in).
