One has to remember, Norman rarely played a break the same way twice. He would play certain licks the same for different tunes, however. His mandolin licks could/ would also be different, but not always. He is so friggin' talented it would just leave most of us standing with our hats in our hands. Same goes for the late Tony Rice and Doc Watson. We are blessed to have had them on earth and in our lives while we did. Norman and Nancy are national treasures.

I love how loose Norman's right hand is. It looks like a wet cloth, but his tone is so good.

Please make a video about bluegrass compositions with two guitars! Two guitars in the context of a full band would be cool, but specifically them by themselves such as in the Blake and Rice albums is what I’m looking for. Comping methods for singing parts and breaks, lead methods during singing parts, etc. I’d really love some in depth analysis of Blake and Rice tunes.

Would you please do a video, showing how to do a simple G, C, D picking pattern, to play as a break at a jam for beginners? This same pattern can be used in A and B with a capo.

How in the world do you type the notes so fast in GP7 ? Is it just a lot of practice? I really struggle with getting fast even with the keyboard short cuts.

Left hand number keys, right hand arrow keys. Get a transcription job where this is all you do for 6-8 hours a day! Haha, but really it is just practice and I certainly wouldn't be as fast as I am if it wasn't part of my regular transcription and teaching work.
