Chris Stockwell, Thank You for posting this amazing tribute to the best flat picker the world has ever known Mr. Tony Rice !!! And just an outstanding job by all !! Micheal Cleveland is a beast on that fiddle !!! Outstanding job Mr. Cleveland. And I hadn't seen Chris Eldridge play in years, wow what a powerhouse ... that blew me away.. Bela, Flux and Sam B., Mark S., Bryan Sutton and the "Dawg" Mr. David Grissom !!! What an excellent tribute to the man we all loved and respected Mr.Tony Rice !!!

These guys deserved alot better sound. You can have the best equipment, but not a prepared soundman. Still a great tribute to one of the greatest guitarists to ever tune a guitar.

Michael Cleveland and Mark O'Connor are in a completely different league on the fiddle. Prodigies just like Chris Thile and Jerry Douglas. I would say Bryan Sutton is getting there.

Man, I love Tony's music so much. I had the opportunity to see The TRU 3 times in the last decade or so, and I'll be forever grateful. I honestly can't think of one single musician that has brought me more joy than Tony Rice. This set is a fantastic tribute to his legacy, God Bless You Tony!! and on a side note, 2020, you were a cold bitch.

Thanks for posting. I have not been to Rockygrass since the heavy rain fest. of July 1999. Got to see and record the Tony Rice Unit in Avon, Colorado in Aug. 1987. On that same show were Newgrass Revival. Weather was great. Good memories there and of the many Telluride fests. I attended for many years as well.

OMG I can't believe I get to relive it again. This was my favorite set at this years RockGrass.Unfortunately sound is not even close to the live quality of that night. But who's complaining, woohoo!!!!! Glad I got to see Tony play and sing over the years. What a stud!!! Stellar lineup for a tribute. Thanks again boys and the man who recorded this.

Even though I never got to meet Tony, I sure do miss him. He truly was larger than life. These guys are gods of music.! Also; If Critter grew a mustache and a long ponytail, He sure would look a lot like Tony.

These guys are all about the music, as it should be. At 22:00 love that Sam introduced each of them individually to a round of applause. But then nobody stepped up to a mic to introduce Sam. They just started playing the next tune ;-) Made me smile.

I know that mandolin DAWG is playing. That's his favorite Italian Giacomel. I picked mine out of 20 or so at his house a long time ago. That one is hard to beat though. Sure do miss the mandolin symposium days. Anyone feels like rewinding time? (and I do mean REWIND like a tape cassette).

They really should have rehearsed Swing 51 a lot more lol. Fun tribute performance though, always great to see so many GOATs on a stage together. Definitely a rusty performance overall, but still, it was a great way to remember Tony, playing all of these songs that really make me think of him. RIP Tony, thanks for sharing.
