There's something that's special about the sound you get from playing slide on one of these babies. Sure, I love the sound of a nice proper resonator guitar, but these things are so unique; and like you said, every one is just a little different. Very cool video; good job & keep it up!

Fantastic guitars. I just got finished making a tricone resonator guitar out of an old cutlery box. Took me two months and more but I agree with you. Who needs more than three chords when you’re playing the blues? Three chords, their relative octaves and a bit of embellishment?! Stay awesome my good man.

I don't know if Tony ever reads this but one can get a little more out of 4 strings. Nothing wrong with 3 but if you're going to make that many, try a four. Why not? He might also want to consider putting a pickup in one. Also, alternate tunings are great. Every time I try a different kind of tuning, it's like a whole new world of possibilities opens.

Our stories about making CBG's are very similar, but I'm not as good at slide guitar as you. I'm a metal head and people think it's odd I love to build and play these guitars.

I also like to build my own and literally in my back yard using mostly hand tools with the fanciest being a hand held plug in drill.

Anyone know what size of drill boy to use when making holes for the tuners?

Tyler Brown Depends on the tuners, if they're simple open gear pegs, 1/4", if they're sealed tuners (Ping is popular), I think they're 23/64ths... but drill a scrap piece to be sure...
