Tens of thousands of farm workers have flocked to the United States. This is the busiest harvest period on most farms in the United States. Many vegetables and fruits will be picked by many farm workers or vegetables will also be harvested using modern agricultural machinery. Самоотверженно можно только спасать детей из огня или воды. А вот ручного тяжёлого труда родом из 19 века, действительно, много. В СССР/России картофель убирали картофеле-уборочными комбайнами ещё в середине 20 века!!! А в "продвинутых" США сейчас ручная сборка картофеля. Я в шоке!

When I was in college, I worked for the company harvesting the red bell peppers in the beginning. The company is Baloian Farms. They were great to work for and have a great reputation in the local community. I remember talking to the “old man” Ed Baloian-he was a fighter pilot in WWII and a true gentleman. He knew everyone’s name and treated everyone the same. He has since passed.

As an engineer, I am impressed with the speed and efficiency of the workers as they harvest the food consumed by Americans. As you can plainly see in the video, the workers can be seen running with heavy buckets to unload into a truck. The sad part not depicted in the video, there are several Americans looking to deport the very workers shown in the video that provide the food Americans eat. A couple of years ago, in one of the states mentioned in the video, Georgia implemented local laws to deport any non citizens found in the state, the result nearly bankrupt the entire food producing industry of Georgia. I invite those who have seen this video to look up videos on U tube. This is the other side of farming no one discusses.

The cost for some of those machines can be astronomical. No wonder why some operations use manual labor but the lack of workers forces the bigger operations to use machines.
