Once you are sure your motor is ok and the timing is right, To fix your overheating problem start with your radiator make sure it has good flow and is not plugged up. Take to to a shop and have it checked if you're not sure. Make SURE you are getting cool air to go through it. You need some kind of ducting to get clean, fresh air to it and a fan that can move a lot of air. A proper fan shroud that makes all the air go through all the rad not just part of it or around it. Last add Water Wetter to the coolant as well as run a thermostat or restrictor plate. OH and great race by the way. :)

Thats pretty good to finish where you did, your engine is hurt. I actually figured it was after the last time it got hot on you, I could see it smoking a bit during the run. Anywho, great finish considering !!

30 DAYS straight of 110 or above temps here back home. So I guess it's too hot to handle no matter where you are today. Shout out from back home. Here's to better days ahead of you. Go Team 2 Kuehl!

What percentage humidity? 89% - 94% here in Ohio. I'll take that 110+ degrees any day over 90 with 90% humidity

Love watch u race. U give em hell. Great vid. Good food at that track? What's their special? IE: french fry delight chili dog? Wish it cheaper more families spend night at track. I young it was family outing. All kids rattle off numbers and drivers names.

Check your belts. If they're slipping it will cause overheating. Also try a 4 blade fan if you're not already using one. Good Luck. Don't give up on the issue keep searching

Nice finish Taylor, I was hoping for a yellow the last 10-15 laps. You may need some fresh air in your helmet, the exhaust could be giving you headaches. Good luck with your motor problems.

Take all the belts off & pull all the plugs out . Turn the crank by hand & make Shure it very free turning . If not . Possible Signs there's a bearing tightening up, or loosing a cam lobe . hydraulic valves, run with .002 lash cold. It's A giddy up go trick 😊.

Go up to sizes in your carburetor jets that will help out on your overheating problem

if you guys don't have a temp gun you need one, you can pin point the temp at any part of the engine, hoses, radiator etc, cheap at any cost. remember water cools better than antfreeze just has a lower boiling point, so don't over think the amount of anti freeze, a little goes a long way.

I can sympathize with you about the migraines. I actually puked on the track racing road race karts from having such a bad migraine. The Someone asked why I didn't come off. Cause I was winning, duh. The next time around second place was off in the grass. I was thinking, man, I hope he didn't spinout in my puke. It was because his chain had come off.

Are you routinely pulling the rad out of the car and soaking in a pool of water? They plug up easily and we’ve all seen how much dirt can get trapped in the fins. Just blowing the rad with an air hose or washing out with a garden hose doesn’t seem to clean them out like it used to. If it’s internal than no rad is going to keep it cool obviously. Sometimes even with a double pass rad the water can circulate to fast through the rad to cool properly. Don’t know if you run a thermostat or a restricter? That type of track that’s always hammer down is tough on any engine.

Took jet out and it's still running hot? I'm assuming you did a flush on it, I'm wondering if there's some kind of obstruction in the water ports. Other than that I would say Head Gasket(s). Don't let it drive you Crazy though, maybe the water pump is on its way out too.

cracked or warped a cylinder head. warm the engine up and confirm with a carbon monoxide sniffer of the air/gases in the top of the radiator.

Looking at your car, 4:10-4:20, your cooling problem is in the clearance between the fan and the shroud. You need to close up the gap between the blade tips and the shroud. As it is the fan fan will create a lot of turbulence and the airflow will have cavitation.

I agree, I had to have only a 1" between the blade tips and the shroud on my stock car, I had a spec engine that was built for a northern sport mod.

I don't get it. You seem to start at the back of every heat race and either win or finish 2nd. And your "reward" for that is to start in the middle of the pack. So what's the point of a heat race if not to give you an opportunity to start near the front?
