I started going to a less crowded and more reverent service, (the bi-lingual Mass) and found it to be much better. Even our Pastor announced at the end of Mass that he especially liked celebrating this Mass because “no one leaves after Communion”…Amen!

@maureenkeenan1290: The plural is never formed with an apostrophe. What you have is either the contracted form with the verb "is" or the genitive form of each noun. Also, I believe the word you're looking for is "paten". A "palete" (alternate form: "palate") is the roof of one's mouth. It also refers to one's sense of taste. You're very welcome!

You are so blessed to have a Latin Mass near you. There is a church near the city that celebrates the Latin Mass, but it's too far from us. Our church has some Masses on special feast days where the Mass parts are chanted in the original Latin instead of some of the horrible contemporary settings. Vatican II in 1965 was the very beginning of the progressive movement taking Christ from the Mass. Thank you for your witness.

To me the "sign of peace" is a great interruption to the build up of awe and reverence just as the expectation of receiving our Lord is at it's peak. Then everyone gets distracted waving peace signs and moving around, etc. I never understand why it isn't at some other point - any other point in the Mass. Not when our attention should be on the Lord's presence in our midst.

Thank you for this good advice and reminders. However, a couple of things troubles me. I have muscular dystrophy so find kneeling almost impossible. My balance is also compromised so standing is also difficult. When I genuflect I cannot kneel down very far as I would almost certainly fall and be unable to get up by myself. I do what I can though, bending my head down for example, and always try to show respect to the Lord and hope that he understands what is in my heart.

This is why you need to sit up front. They have ministers to help you room for wheelchairs. It is not mandatory to stand up and down or to kneel.. I had back surgery, so I sat on the edge of the pew.

Until now I have never thought about a person who is deaf following the Holy Mass on their phone.This is a reminder to me about being judgemental .Thankyou for raising this issue.I guess regarding the issue of modesty ,while I agree not everyone seems to understand some clothes are not appropriate for Mass; again this is a judgement.If a person comes to Mass that's a blessing regardless of how they are dressed.My focus should be on the Altar on the Holy Word and on what Jesus is saying to me.

I remember as a child being forced by our teacher's to attend mass on Sunday morning, not showing up came at a cost, usually a few straps on each hand Monday morning which I was subject to many times. There was nothing more boring to me anyway than sitting in that damn place when we could have been outside doing anything else. I've been there many times since for weddings, funerals and even some christenings and Find it even worse than when I was a kid, but at least now I can leave whenever I want .

Also people arriving too late during the Gospel or Consagration, then they take the Communion. Cel phones ringing and people answering. It's painful, I suffer about that.

By the way, I'm sure you realize that El Shaddai, which means "mountain", has a secondary meaning: "breast". In using that name with God, you not only employ a name which shows might and strength, but also the maternal, nurturing side of God. Think about it.

In our small parish, we are so blessed with very dedicated priests. They also take seriously the spiritual health of their parishioners. Unlike in the big church that I mentioned earlier, the priest rushed everything, barely breathing in between sentences. I felt cheated but asked the Holy Spirit to bless the church goers and the priests assigned in that parish. There may be some explanation to the rush.

@@rajoschannel4338 hello my friend! If you can find a small parish, with very warm yet traditional priests, abiding by the laws of God, you are blessed! Some priests rush through everything because they think that's what the parishioners want. And in most cases it is. By making the parishioners happy they will keep going to church. However, that's not the answer and not good practice. Everyone just goes through the motions! I think it's very sad from both sides! There are those of us, like myself, who go early and stay a few extra minutes for the Lord. He has invited me to his supper and showered me with graces, he deserves all my time and respect. True indeed,we should always respect our Lord in the Alter...I humbly requested All Priests to preach the Word of God like Protestants Pators..eg.(L)Billy Graham,the way they preached,its like thunder of Holy Spirit came from Heaven awakens the sleepy souls... preaching about Hell and Salvation....and teach the Parishioners to respect our Lord in the Holy Eucharist...Wake up all Christian Catholics...🙏🙏

I was taught during my elementary grade at a Catholic school that reciting the rosary during mass is a NO NO because the mass is more important during that time. Am I & the nuns correct regarding this? Please advise

I read somewhere that at Mass spoken in Latin people held their rosary beads and prayed the rosary then because they didnt understand Latin. Not sure if this is true and I wonder if it comes from that...?

As Father Chris Alard once said, 'Never worry about letting someone know they are incorrect with their behavior, attitude, attire, disrespectful actions etc. So many just look for an excuse not to go and someone to blame. If they stop coming...they really didn't want to be there in the first place.' I pray more priests explain tradition and what should be common practice because humanity has lost their way! ❤✌🙏

These man inspired rules and lack of concentration on Christ's teaching are what drove me from the Catholic Church. I now do all of these things and more from a place of understanding and true knowledge of the Bible and God's plan, away from the rule book that failed to put Christ at the centre of my life. As I always said the rule makers will not be there when I meet my maker, saying this is a good person they deserve to be allowed into heaven

I think no. 10 - giving peace greetings to anyone you feel inclined to is fine, even to those sitting at different desks, as long as you don't go so far out of the way that disturbs other people. You can do it from afar too by making a gesture of peace greetings.
