Hello Vince! Thank you so much for taking the time to share such a comprehensive review of our full-fibre broadband and the speeds you're getting. It's a pleasure to receive your recommendation. Enjoy those 900 Mbps speeds!

Thank you for this video! I was looking for an idea of what the final setup looks like and this from what I can see looks very promising. The only thing that concerns me for my particular house setup is where the fibre wire would come into the house as we have currently got it coming through the same spot as the phone line. I guess the only way to find that out is to contact them and see what they think.

Thanks for the view and comment Ben. I'm sure the Tube engineer installing it will consult with you on the best installation entry route, as they did with me. Good luck with your investigation. Regards, Vince

Nice video Vince thanks, I’d be interested to know what a gigabit lan connection speed is. Looking forward to getting toob shortly.

Hi Paul, thanks for taking a look at my video. I didn't test the LAN connection speed myself as I do not have a device with a LAN connector. I rely on WiFi only but as you saw from the video I can still get very impressive speeds uploading as well as downloading. When the system was installed the engineer tested it with a direct wired connection and got well over 900Mbps, in fact over a gigabit. I do not think you will be disappointed when it arrives, however you connect up. Vince

@@vinceunlimited Its true that most of your devices do not have an Ethernet port built in, but you are able to purchase a USB A to Ethernet (RJ15) Adaptor. No it won't be exactly the same as a native built in wired network connection, but it should be 85% of the way there. Would be super interesting to see the wired performance.

@@Lunacy_Phoenix Thanks for your information. Although I am not personally looking to use any form of Ethernet connection as I am happy with the wireless performance some others may find this option useful. Vince

Hey Vince, what’s the router like. Range specifically. Are there many dead spots in your house?
@vinceunlimited
@vinceunlimited 2 жыл бұрын
Hi, Thanks for taking a look at my video. I have no real issues with range as the signal is so strong and my apartment is across a single floor. There is some reduction in speed in the far reaches, say less than 15% maximum reduction at 10m, but the router is centrally mounted within the space so this is minimised. Also I have no supporting walls to contend with. However I get a strong enough signal to use it from outside the apartment in the corridor, through the supporting wall. I cannot ascertain how the external wall would suppress the signal as I am unable to hover several stories up! cheers, Vince

HI, Im Already Connected to toob but I been supplied with different box which is not possible to connect wirelessly to toob router or any other. Whats is your box model please. I want to ask for different which allows me to wirelessly connect to router
@vinceunlimited

The router I have is manufactured by Sagemcom in France for Toob and appears to be a CS50001 model. You should be able to connect devices to a router wirelessly by searching for the router 'name' via your device and using the password printed on the router. You mention being connected to Toob and being supplied with a 'box'. Is this a separate TV streaming box, such as Sky, Virgin or BT or maybe a secondary router? I do not have a TV streaming box nor any secondary booster. in any case the best option is to contact Toob direct. they have an excellent support team who are always willing to assist.

@@vinceunlimited hi. You don’t understand me unfortunately. Im asking about fibre modem which is attached to your wall. You mentioned in your video about connection modem to router either wifi or lan. I have different modem which is sdx 621your is sdx 624v. Please just confirm is it possible to connect your modem to router wirelessly as if that true I will ask toob to replace the modem. Thanks

@@masakielbasa89 Hi Masa, Apologies for not interpreting your question correctly. The fibre box connected to the wall is a Adtran model, not sure what model number as it has been fixed to the wall by Toob before I got to see it. From the fibre box there appears to be a standard network style lead to the router. I mentioned the LAN connector because it is possible to connect straight from the router to a network or network connected device directly and that would provide the fastest transfer speeds. However the tests I carried out were all WiFi to see what speeds I could get. As the transfer speeds are acceptable I have nor chosen to run a fixed wiring LAN, in any case most of my devices did not have such connectors. So, for clarity in response to your question my 'modem' is connected to my 'router' via a physical lead. I am not aware if this connection can be wireless and suspect it cannot. I hope that helps and good luck with speaking to Toob. Vince

@@manickbarry it does have VPN setting & I've got my QNAP NAS attached which I connect with remotely, amazing.... I've bitten the bullet and gone for a Netgear Nighthawk RAX200 router and what an incredible increase in difference with home wifi speeds.

All you proved was that your hardware limitations were the bottle neck not the broadband, and time to retire the older equipment, I don’t even think changing the wifi adapter cards in the older machines will make much of a difference , so the only way they may see anything near full performance would be other Ethernet

Hi, thanks for taking a look at my video and your thoughts. I wanted to do a real world test of the system so only used what I had to hand, my TV and Apple devices plus my father's more dated Android phone and PC. The speeds would have been closer to the Toob potential had I been able to use hard wired [network] connections. As you noticed the differences in the download and upload speeds were determined by the actual equipment but even so were as impressive as I have seen on my devices with the possible exception of a 600mbps+ download twice seen on my iPhone, once at a friends house who had a Virgin cable network and also once, surprisingly, on the London Underground when they temporarily opened it up for all to use.
