I’ve said this before, in the first one, it feels all bravado, the lyrics are dark, but the music is upbeat, like he’s putting on a mask. I’m in trouble, but I’m fronting it out, everything is good, hey it’s a party. The second one, that mask has dropped and you can feel the truth of his pain and desperation. Ronnie wrote this song in solitary when he was in prison. Ronnie is a mad talented cat. Oh the girl…merely a representation of the cover of the album this song was originally on.

Awesome reaction. I'm so glad you liked it. A little background info: Ronnie wrote this when he was still in prison, fighting to become clean from heroin and looking at himself in the mirror. So I'm pretty sure he was talking about an actual drug. I've heard that the sentence "your secrets keep you sick, your lies keep you alive" is often used in drug addiction related therapy. But a lot of Ronnie's songs are ruthless honest about his emotions and mistakes, but still leave room for personal interpretation of the listeners. FiR started out as a "scene band" whatever that means exactly (I lived under a rock during this time). Their basic was somwhi in the emo/post hardcore genre, while already starting to experiment with some genre mixing. Sad lyrics, mixed with fu videos and upbeat music are pretty typical for emo music. 9 years later Ronnie have the lyrics the music and the video they deserved. The blond girl in the reimagined video is the cover girl from the album the original version was on. She was the stereotypical emo girl. Ronnie didn't play the piano in the recording, but the guy who came up with the idea for the arrangement. Since Ronnie is a very good pianist and a perfectionist I'm almost certain, that he knows how to play the piano part and played it in the video. The song is basically about self reflection. Ronnie said it's basically him talking to himself looking in the mirror saying "I'm my worst energy I do the worst damage to myself more than anyone else can do to me". It's referencing his past experiences

Great reaction! The girl in the reimagined version is the girl off The Drug In Me Is You Album. I love the reimagined version. The first one was the first song he recorded after getting out of jail. He makes fun of it on Twitch all the time. He said he wasn't able to practice singing while locked up so he was very "rusty." I think now that he has found his style and voice is incredible he wanted a redo it to show how he wanted this song to feel. Also to show his growth from the first song to now.

It's alright, mate. Everyone's a little bit in love with Ronnie. He's complicated, troubled, contrary but a loveable rogue and immensely talented. Even the people that hate him feel something for him🤷🏼‍♀️

It's absolutely incredible how you take a song like the first one with such a different vibe and completely reconstruct it into a masterpiece like the reimagined version. Makes you think how many songs with very deep meanings get tossed to the waste side because the way it's portrayed is in a not very serious way.

I just stumbled on this post today. Glad to see that you are playing both versions of this song. The vocal progression of Ronnie since the early days is absolutely incredible. I only wish that someone, just one person would have taken him under his or her wings, and developed his obvious abilities. It's not easy to find an actual vocal talent. I can't begin to understand where he would be by now. I never heard of him as I am older, but when I heard his remakes, I was absolutely shocked. I see some of that in your reaction. I truly wish that he is being given the opportunity to create something astronomical. ( yeah, he is mind blowing! It's OK to say that, even for you. If anything, I had learned a lot throughout my life. Enjoy the ride as other fan of his do.)

I was really looking forward to your reaction to these two. Sean Rooney, an Irish composer, composed the piano and played it on the studio version of "Reimagined". Ronnie is playing the piano in the video (enough so that people who know piano say he is really playing the song), but the studio recording is Sean. Ronnie does play the piano. But...Ronnie's voice...just wow! Reimagined is one of my favorite songs. Someone else already commented that he wrote the song in prison, looking in the mirror, so the drug is basically himself (all the troubles he caused for himself with drugs, etc.). You can't possibly have any panties left to throw. They must all be left on the stage for FIR and Queen :)

In this one he's talking about his own drug addiction (now sober). And the *you* it's referring to is a personification of that. Ronnie is a self taught pianist. The prom queen in the Reimagined version is a call back to the cover of the original album this song appeared on "The Drug In Me Is You". At 13:43 when he's belting his lyrica you'll notice the vampire fangs. Those are a call back to another song of his and a foreshadowing of his Revamped version of it, I'm Not A Vampire. So many little things in this song and video for his fans. He said he wrote this for us. And we feel and appreciate it. The man is an extremely talented vocalist, songwriter, producer, musician, etc. He does it all. So underrated and underappreciated. And because of his genres of music and lyrics he'll never when a Grammy though he's far more deserving than most.

Ronnie has taken Falling in Reverse to a new level after getting out of Prison, thats why he does the revamps. he is an amazing vocalist and he is now trying to express himself free of addiction. thats why the revamps take the over hyped songs from his past and put them in his true frame of mind. and his singing is now WAY more dynamic. it gives better context to how he felt with the old songs, with the same lyrics but with the TRUE meaning behind them through the visuals and tones. its amazing what he has done. continue to cover him.

If I may, I would love to suggest "Champion"

I always saw these two songs as one being the struggle with addiction and that it’s fun and yeah there’s consequences but fuck it because we all die anyways (this being the drug in me is you) but then there’s a burn out and a loss and then there’s no one left in your life so you’re left all alone with all your secrets and sins until one day someone comes and accepts you for those and helps you burn all those past mistakes to the ground and you will forever still have that apart of you but you can move on from those (this being Reimagined). And it makes a nice full story when they are put together. That’s why I love FIR so much. There’s always so much depth.

Depression. This is what the girl in the second (and maybe also the first) represent. Depression makes you "high on misery". It's addictive. It "trie[s] to help" but it can't", yet depressed people keep demanding more because that's the refuge, the comfort zone. It's a weird state, you just go along acting as if everything's normal, yet you are empty inside. And deeply unhappy. Maybe even broiling dark thoughts. That last scene in the flame, those cries, it's pure sadness. I'm still tearing up hearing it.

Had many friends over the years commit suicide or lose it to the pills. In 2016 my best friend killed himself and I just couldn't get right. Their music gave me my life back. As a musician myself, I know how hard it is to do what they do. I am not grateful to God or the Universe, I am grateful to Ronnie and his crew. It truly is something special.

What I got from the reimagined video..He was obsessed with this girl for a very long time but it was bad for him. So he did one final ballad to her and got all his anger out. They can't be together, even tho she's standing there ready to be with him at the end, perfect like a prom queen, he's like "nah, you need to stay in my past, you can't keep me in this trance anymore because I'm burning everything down"

I've been a fan of falling in reverse since I was like 11. when I first saw Ronnie's reimagined of 'the drug in me is you' and it came to the scene of the blong girl with the crown, blue dress, black makeup and red lipstick I flipped out. cause if you know know the album( or you can just look it up lol) then you know that on the cover is a young blonde girl with a crown, a blue dress, black makeup and red lipstick. I truly felt like he was doing a full circle moment, to their first album 'the drugs in me is you' and used the girl on the front of their album.

Yeah the first one was upbeat and kinda fun, this one just hits you right in the feels, does too me anyway. You can really feel the pain and emotion. Ronnie is a very talented person.

Filmed at his actual home and has his girlfriend Paige in it. She is a former WWE Diva.

As I understand it, an Irish(?) pianist enjoyed the original so much that he wrote and recorded this piano version and sent it to Ronnie. Ronnie liked it and had it professionally recorded and then did the rest of the work to create this reimagined version

It's really interesting there's 2 songs. Essentially, they're exactly the same. Same lyrics, same singer, same band... Same same same But, the first version is a basic early 2000's punk pop song your hear on the radio crossing the strip. Absolutely nothing wrong with any of that. It's fun. The second version, is one of the best, heartfelt, broken, and sorrowful pieces of music ever created by the genre. From "just another song" to masterpiece. And all it took was age
