Really cute room! I have never seen "Social Justice Standards" before (and I teach in So Cal). Was that creation the result of a schoolwide initiative?

@@toocoolformiddleschoolblog I’ll be honest, I’m going to school to be a teacher. The first thing we have been taught is to never let our students know our personal beliefs and views. Which is true, it is not an educators job to share their views. But to give all the information and let the students decide for them selves

One way that we learn about the concept of privilege is through reading Anne Frank’s story. Her father’s coworkers, Meip and Mr. Kraler, recognized that according to Hitler’s laws, they had privilege, as they were not registered as Jewish. They used their privilege to hide, feed and clothe two Jewish families for as long as they could. What incredible examples of grace.
