Tool : Demo 5 New Songs Leaked Confirmed by Adam Jones
Tool have been hard at work on a new studio album, and a recent update from guitarist Adam Jones paints a somewhat positive picture of where things stand.
At a recent meet-and-greet held prior to the band’s show in Salt Lake City, Jones told fans that he, Danny Carey, and Justin Chancellor are in the studio working three days a week. The good news? They have two albums worth of material recorded. As of now, however, only five of those songs “meet their Tool standard” and Maynard James Keenan has yet to write any lyrics (he traditionally waits until 90% of the instrumentals are written, Jones explained).
Jones also reportedly played the attendees a riff of music from the new album.

Sounds like an extension of the patient, Rosetta Stoned, and Jambi. Well up until about a minute and a half in. At about 2:50 it goes into something along the lines of the extended Pushit into. IDK if I believe this to be a leak. It sounds like someone connecting a bunch of Jones' riffs. Around 5:50 it gets into a new song I have seen live recently. Then around 9:36 it goes into another new song from the recent tours... I wouldn't call this a leak. I don't see how you are calling it a leak confirmed by Adam Jones, though...

I don't like the title, but i didn't really expect to hear "new songs" anyways. It was still interesting to hear the jamming though. I haven't really been paying attention to the "hype" all that much since most fans know that Tool has been saying that they're recording a new album for years now. I mean, one of these was just a slower jam/intro before Schism. Most bands do a slow/different interpretation of a song live after several years of playing a song live. Still interesting to hear though in such great quality.

I'm virtually positive that these are segues and jams before soms lime the bass driven one that had something to so with 46&2 or a song I'm jist not quite picking up but the key, the underlying groove and playing around thw tonic... I'm just not positive. EDIT: I think Leonardo below me is right about the part i was talking about or it was the pot

Anyone know what the bad ass bass riff starting around 6:35 is? I've seen people calling it invincible but that song has since been released and I don't hear this bass line in it. Kind of surprised they didn't develop this into a song it's catchy.

are not songs, is just the process to make songs, you have to make rifffs and change styles, to chose what is better and what fits better, so you need to make like 10 or 10000 times diferent same riffs with little variations to get the best, is how professionals work. Are not just songs. Also a song is when someone sings. Instrumental are not songs cause no one sings.

Andrew Brietbart lol. After going back & listening to this I can hear more of the original material. I still believe that a lot of it sounds like older stuff but just having added instrumentation & being tweaked a lot. I am leaving myself open to the belief that this is more of them just jamming rather then this being actual songs that will be put on the up & coming album.
