There's a 1a. TOOL and a 1b. Pink Floyd. Oddly enough they are eeriely similar in how original and how skilled they are. When I first started listening to TOOL(about 20 years ago), they made me think so much of what I thought Pink Floyd might have sounded like in this day. I listened to a lot of Floyd growing up(I'm 48) and they were always my favourite, until TOOL appeared. My appreciation for the music both bands have put out is indescribable. The level that they've(both bands) taken music to concerning ALL facets of how songs are written is unmatched. We're all very fortunate to be witness such a phenomena..

This song is the least catchy that’s why. Lyrics are so deep and well written that most people will never figure out what he’s talking about. Plus it’s layed out in a way that it takes time to grab someone. Timeless music. Some people will fall in love with this song down the road. The never ending tool learning road. Epic song🤘🏼

I've been a hard core TOOL fan for over 20 years and it is only now that I'm starting to realize that this is my favorite album. I listened to an interview with Maynard the other day, and something he said stuck with me. He said when making the songs, they first have to figure out where they are, what landscape are they standing in. And so it got me thinking about the Fear Inoculum album as a whole, what the landscape of it is (to me oc) , and it's kind of empty and quiet and huge. It's like the other albums are about the awakening, and this is about what comes after the awakening, if you REALLY are awakened, the quiet place, where the real fun begins ;)

This album is an incredible piece of art. For all the songs that hit me immediately (Fear Inoculum, Pneuma, 7empest), it's the others (Invincible, Descending and Culling Voices) that are proving the most rewarding over time. I still don't feel like I've peaked on this album yet, after probably 50 to 75 full listens.

In Tool's maturity, they have unbelievably gone to much deeper levels or art and style that it can only be appreciated after many listens. Just like they said, there is so much in the song and the other's like it, one has to listen to it over and over to grasp the nuances. It is sort of like a drug that gets better and better the more you use it. Like DFW's Infinite Jest, is this Tool's masterwork? I hope they have more in them as we love it!

I remember in 1997 I was 4 years old, my mother driving, me in the backseat air drumming(really just waving my hands around) to Stinkfist, and I’ve been a fan of Tool ever since. The powerful, almost desperate message combined with how otherworldly it is carried by the instrumentals leads me to believe that Tool's goal with this song is to plant a subconscious suggestion into all of our minds. A suggestion to take conscious action towards the preservation of our own species and planet. Fucking legends.

AlexFrank, (who knows, but ...) to me, it feels like Maynard set up the context for the song’s atmosphere so that the long lack of vocals at the end lets the instrumental speak for itself, and it feels like the final, chaotic tumult of our end or our struggle against it. Potentially descending into a return to a universe without us, as natural and inevitable as the waves.

I've seen countless reaction videos of this album. Man. Holy fuck. You guys react the best. you get it! You tune in the way the band intended. And any artist would intend if thier heart is purely for the art. And it's the most fulfilling feeling as a legitimate artist to get this kind of reaction. The amount of work that goes into this kind of quality. Would blow a cookie cutter casher grab brains out trying to comprehend!! It takes alot of time and trials and error to produce this kind of material. Even though it's takin this vary long to get new music from tool. And I was in high school when 10,000 days came out. They have reached a point in thier life where they got all the time and resources to take thier fucking time and do it right. I cant wait to see them live in 2020

This is my third time of watching this reaction. You both get me pumped! My favorite song on the album, right now. Been part of the Tool Army since '95, and still find parts in all their songs that I didn't notice. This will take me decades to swim through.

There’s not a single band anywhere these days that’s able to pull off these sounds, time signatures, and multi-stage arrangements as well as Tool has ever been able to. It’s a good time to be alive and able to respect the complexity of such authentic music. There’s songs on this album and several other Tool albums where the bassist is performing solos while the quitar is in rhythm and still able to keep the music full of sound as well as if there were at least 2 guitarists. The entire band are a one of a kind. Thanks for the video and thanks for Tool for being who they are doing what NOBODY else does.

BEAUTIFULL! song and at the same time so powerfull that it blows your ass off!!! If you don't know it, please give it a try, even without making a video. After 2nd listening it will stay in your heart 4ever! The music, the lyrics, climate :)... wish You and your family all the best in the new year!

I've only very recently found your videos, and have seen a number of your Opeth and Tool's Fear Inoculum reactions. Your genuine excitement and enthusiasm is infectious. I'm 64 years old, and I have heard a LOT of music over the years, but Fear Inoculum is my favourite album of all time. It is an absolute masterpiece. It is their Cistine Chapel. Every single note is crafted and has its place. Tool songs are not songs - they are experiences to enjoy over and over again. They have complete mastery of adding layers and texture to their music and creating the most incredible sounds. Credit has to go to the production of course, but the skill and artistry of the whole band is, in my humble opinion, beyond compare. In fact, I feel a little bit of sadness for those people who have not had the privilege of experiencing them.

Dude...the run that starts at @10:00 is just...it's the snipping that played in my mind as my ten year old self pitched in the World Series 9th inning with two outs and the bases loaded, and when I played paintball and was the last guy alive defending the fort, and when I was 16 and took my first truck for a drive alone and felt that freedom, and when I ran the last 100 yards of my first Army fitness test, and when I flew into the dusty combat landing zone in Iraq for an air assault mission, and when my son took his first steps....this song's been the background track for the best moments in my life, even before it was composed.
