No doubt. I remember going to Tower records and buying this magnificent album. Sounds so good and hasn't aged at all. So many albums from 2001 sound so old and dated but this gem sounds like it came out yesterday. Amazing.

No it doesn’t. The song was made well before they realized it kind of lines up to the sequence. They laugh about it.

Also when Maynard was working on the lyrics he deliberately used the Fibonacci sequence with his syllables. It began linking up to the Fibonacci sequence." The syllables Maynard sings in the first verse follow the first six numbers in the pattern, ascending and descending in the sequence 1-1-2-3-5-8-5-3. "Black (1), then (1), white are (2), all I see (3), in my infancy (5). It continues from there. @@johncarpenter3751 I appreciate the advise. Tool came out when I was about 16-17. I enjoyed the songs that were played on the radio in the 90’s and early 2000’s but never dove down the rabbit hole till about 3 months ago.

@@SeanStaxxMusic There is a really good drummer "Johnkew" that did a cover of it, and it's amazing, but- He's playing straight triplets but diddling every fifth note. the diddle creates the illusion of a different rhythm. After the brain scramble, you should have taken a song or two/three of the mellower stuff, or the art you’re not supposed to have to think about. “Right In Two” (10,000 days) - so bold and in your face, you CAN’T miss it, no thought required. Great jam to vibe out to and reflect on the message. Now that you have opened Pandora’s box and jumped on Lateralus, you’re going to have some studying to do. As far as the spiral, I get what you’re saying - it’s not wrong… but there’s a whole lot more to it. 0,1,1,2,3,5,8,13 The first verse: 1,1,2,3,5,8,5,3 And……..GO! This album is phenomenal, start to finish, or out of order. The Grudge will wake you up. The Patient will slow you down. Schism will split you apart. Parabol/Parabola will bend you. Ticks & Leeches will suck you dry. Lateralus will take you for a spin. The Holy Trinity (Disposition, Reflection, Triad) will show you the way. The others are more or less interludes, there for pacing, so you don’t rush into something you’re not ready for. 🫥🌀😵‍💫 A fun one to watch though, for sure. (Told you he wasn’t ready!)
