Today I wanted to share with you my experience owning and using this Electronic Refrigerant Leak Detector made by Pittsburgh Automotive and sold by Harbor Freight Tools. Item number 92514. This tool is one of my favorite to use when trying to diagnose, troubleshoot and find a refrigerant leak on an a/c system. This tool can also be used on your home air conditioning system unit.

Normally wouldnt buy diagnostic equipment from harbor freight due to the high possibility of faulty tool causing me to second guess my testing. But if your recommending it I definitely need to check it out! Always great to save money when good tools cost so much money

I always wondered about HF's detector... as the reviews can't always be trusted on the site. Sometimes ppl just don't know how to use tools properly. I liked the review, and being that this is your 2nd one, I'm more inclined on trying it. Thanks Eric!

I got this tool because I have a leak on my car ac system i put Freon and only last 2 days so I will try to check were the leak is coming from with this tool

Will this only work for automotive? Would it also work for R410a in a residential ac?

It seems really easy to use. Any reason to use the dye prior to this tool? I would think the tool the first time around will save from using the dye? New to HVAC...

I just bought one for my 99 chevy express..im thinking my rear ac or evaperator...hopefully i wont be tearing into everything..the sniffer should find it...i paid 68 bucks for mine..

Fuck that A code reader from harbor freight and a free volt multimeter at the register lol if ya want a test light too. For a 100$ you can literally send technicians home like a mutha fuckin principal . Factory facts

I bought one it didn't work good at all I returned it and got my money back I'm a retired mechanic my old one broke so I bought this from Harbor Freight Tools and it is not accurate gave me false readings and I've used one of these for years doing air conditioning don't waste your time or your money on this tool
