Hello in my wood workshop,
Time again for a tool test / review - this time it's about the Makita DRT50 hand router / multifunctional router - a small but nice helper for woodwork.

First of all, the reasons why I bought a hand router.
Well - most woodworkers will certainly have a normal router in their workshop. Routers are simply indispensable tools, but sometimes they are quite unwieldy. A hand router offers the possibility of working in tight spaces or simply making small millings, quickly and yet well.
I also decided on a battery version - so I'm mobile and can use the multifunctional milling machine almost anywhere without having to draw power.
It should be noted that a hand router cannot and never will be a replacement for a regular router. The parts were certainly not designed for this.
Now to the router I tested - MAKITA DRT50:
The hand router is small and therefore light. In my opinion, it is still stable and, as you can see in the video, it is also suitable for carrying out longer milling paths.
What I particularly like about this hand router is that it has a well thought-out safety mechanism, and the depth/height adjustment also works reliably.
But enough words, just take a look - I'd be happy.
Best regards and thanks for watching.
Christian
