20 years ago... After getting off the bus from high school, i would get stoned on my short walk back home. I would put this on and lie on the floor at the perfect spot and listen to this on my dads hi-fi system from the late 80’s. This changed my perspective on damn near everything in my life. What a recording!!!

I still have the VHS version of the 'salival' boxed set. It has a little water damage to the box, but other than that its in good condition. The CD booklet, VHS tape. and Compact Disc are still in great shape. Because this box set album is no longer in print, I treasure it. Most tool fans ask me "whoah dude, what tool album is THAT one." and I just grin....

Third Eye will always be one of my favourite songs. It's so beautifully crafted, and the way they evolved the studio version for the live recording is stunning. One of the best songs ever written in my opinion. Saw Tool for the third time a few weeks ago, was the second time seeing them play this... It and the drum solo were the absolute highlights. Timeless masterpiece.

It wasn’t until about a year or two ago that I really stared listening to them and soaking in their melodies and their lyrics. I saw tool for the first time in 2001 and they played this and no quarter. It was also my first concert. They played at a little college basketball stadium in Utah with half of it blocked off. There's been 2 shows in my life that will none will ever compare to, and this is the best of the 2.
