Sanding Sponge Pads: amzn.to/490mck4
1 Inch Sanding Pads: amzn.to/4alA9u0
(These are the pads I used in the video, they do NOT come with a center hole so you need to poke your own every time you change the sandpaper out... The metal attachment is also too large for the small Dremel but the pads fit fine on the one that comes with the Dremel)
File Set: a.co/d/jezk2Ni
(The one in the video is from Ace Hardware but any small File set like this should work fine)

OMG DUDE!!!!!!! Thank you for the reminder that there is a better way! I've been using cut-up wet sandpaper strips for years and it is the worst. Barely print anything more because I hated the sanding process sooooo much. Super excited for the sanding sponges and dremel workflow

You left out one of the most important tools, a high quality respirator to wear while sanding. Wet sanding or not, breathing in resin particles is toxic and can cause serious long term lung and tissue damage. You might know this, but does everyone else watching a resin sanding tutorial that might want to buy a 3D printer?

Agreed 👍 I am going to address PPE more in future videos but I should’ve included it in this video.

Thanks for the info, this is exactly what I needed. I’m new to 3D printing and everyone says to “sand” the model but never gives any info on how to do it.

That is exactly why I made this! Make sure when sanding you are wearing proper PPE for resin particles, I should have included it in the video. Thanks for the comment, I really appreciate it! More videos like this coming soon.

really good video dude! started making statues in the hope to be my own employer, i work the trades as a pipefitter so my idea of "light sanding" was to start as 220 with normal sheet paper. I really like all your choices in tools and your reasoning why! I appreciate your input and willingness to make a video's for others to follow your channel might be small now but im sure it wont be for long, you will def get a sub from me keep up the awesome work.

Thank you so much! This was my first video doing audio so I am just really glad it all made sense... 😂 I am going to be making a bunch of these "tutorial/suggestion" style videos showing what has worked best for me in ALL areas of resin printing so I am glad to see it's helping others. Thank you for the sub! I truly appreciate it and I wish you the best on your goal of making statues and being your own employer 💪

@@ResinForge By any chance can you do a video on key way tolerance's my resin is pretty dialed in for the exposure times so i shouldnt be getting crazy expansion or shrinkage but my tolerances for my parts always sucks and are never a flush fit without a considerable amount of sanding and dremmel work, i print out of my bedroom (small house) and resin dust getting everywhere is certainly not something i enjoy
@ResinForge
@ResinForge 5 ай бұрын
@@TBONEnoble I should have a video out in the next few weeks where I talk about size fluctuations of large parts (mainly bases) and how they never seem to fit completely flush no matter how dialed the settings are. I will note your comment and try and address it in that video! 🫡 Resin dust in the house is no fun

for me the most annoying thing when printing multi-part statue is the seam, where parts connect together and leaves some gaps
@ResinForge
@ResinForge 5 ай бұрын
I am working on a video for that! Should be out in the next few weeks... I usually use some Aves 2 part apoxie sculpt or resin wield smaller gaps... The dremel makes easy work of flattening out bumps from seams. Thanks for the comment I appreciate it
@WalamiFijilot
@WalamiFijilot 5 ай бұрын
@@ResinForgeis its possible to fill all the gap nicely, BUT still keep all the part seperated for easy airbrushing? the normal way is good and all but at then end of the day i got this big chunk of statue thats is hard to air brush
@ResinForge
@ResinForge 5 ай бұрын
@@WalamiFijilot I’m not too sure 🤔 I’m new to the painting side of the hobby so I haven’t had to deal with that yet… Maybe paint them separate and leave the edges of the gap unpainted and than fix the gap and paint over it

So this looks useful for bigger prints, but I normally print tabletop minis and no matter what settings I apply I always get scaring marks from supports. It pretty difficult to remove these marks because of how detail dense resin mini are compared to traditional plastic minis. what would you recommend for smaller models?
@ResinForge
@ResinForge 5 ай бұрын
Great point... Most of my prints are usually on the larger side. For smaller models you could use sanding sticks for detailed areas. It is basically a matchstick with a sanding pad on the end. Something like this would probably work well a.co/d/g7d2cYW

I typically use ANYCUBIC Standard Resin... Its consistent, has a great price point and prints well for me even in lower temperatures, I have probably used about 40 bottles of it in the last few months with no issues. ANYCUBIC Standard Resin: amzn.to/3x5iJU9 File Set: a.co/d/jezk2Ni (The one in the video is from Ace Hardware but any small File set like this should work fine) 1 Inch Sanding Pads: amzn.to/4alA9u0 (These are the pads I used in the video, they are extremely durable but they do NOT come with a center hole so you need to poke your own every time you change the sandpaper out... The metal attachment is also too large for the small Dremel but they fit fine on the one that comes with the Dremel) All of the links for the tools I used are now in the video Description! 🙂 My videos will have the links in the description moving forward! (I was waiting for an approval thing from YT) Thank you for the comment I really appreciate it! 😁
