Tools for dividing or removing bamboo!
If it’s totally out of control, you’ve got your work cut out, but for most plants, even the big ones, these basic tools do the job!

'Bulldog' digging shovels etc do a gr8 range of HD tools. A mature stand of bamboo can be like concrete when you have to break it up.

That’s where the digging bar comes in I’ve split some huge plants over the years and I believe these are the best tools! Some of the huge Borindas that are 20 years plus that we have been taking divisions from recently have been a good test

When do you divide? You talk about sawing, do you use that curved blade?

I divide early spring or just after new culms have come up and hardened off, latest is probably early autumn Most plants will divide with the digging bar and spade, but if it’s very compacted, I’ll get a small saw in
